But can it compare to a Blendtec total blender?

    • Blendtec could prob blend the Vitamix.

    • I hadn't heard of Blendtec until now. Looks like it's got the same rep as Vitamix, both USA made but the Blendtec has even more power. My 15yo Vitamix gets used daily and I've never found it lacking power but it looks like you can't go wrong with either. And for those asking why you need to spend $300+ on a blender, the answer is, YOU don't. For those who know what these do over a $49 Kmart blender, they are buying these.

The one thing I'd add (can't speak for Blendtec but certainly on the Vitamix side) is it's better to get one like this, or any of the older models that don't have computer chips built in. That's just more that can go wrong. Unless you're really into specialised cooking, those are a waste of money.

  • Bought it yesterday and got it today. Will use it tomorrow and report back. Looks good though

I hope it didn't blend you, we never heard back so I'm assuming the worst.
