Lifewise Grain Free Turkey 18kg - Cheapest Place to Buy?

The retail price of this amazing dog has once again increased, now retailing at $190/18kg bag.

About this time last year, with discounted Mastercards, ShopBack and Click Frenzy sales, I paid $118/18kg bag. Since then, PetHouse has been condensed into House Pets and the product range decimated, MyPetWarehouse has been bought by PetStock who have taken on their supply chain and stretched it across both businesses and Pet Culture has closed down entirely.

I can find it for $139.99 in Lilydale VIC, but I won’t be there until December and I’ll likely need more before then.
Often sites that still stock it charge far too much shipping and ruin any discounts.

Thanks for any leads!

  • You might need to change to another brand of dry dog food but saying that the rest have also escalated in price.
I was lucky that when Pet Culture closed, I bought up big at their closing salebut that won't last forever.

    • I’ve been through that 4 times, I’ll be damned if I do it again - diarrhoea, malnutrition, refusal to eat. He LOVES this food and I get about 2.5 months out of a bag. I’m happy to pay the $140, but it’s the timing that’s ruining things atm

Literally the day Pet Culture announced the closing sale, they were sold out of this food

  • This sucks I only just swapped from Meals for Mutts to Lifewise because they had also been discontinued.

    • Seriously?!
I know Bill (owner of Lifewise) formulated MfM and left when they changed the formula and ruined it - this was one of Busters refusal to eat foods, after the change. Plenty of people still bought it, cause it was arguably better than Black Hawk and around the same price point

      • MfM works for ours. No side effects, shiny coats.Alert, happy and don't wolf it down, or have any aversions to it.
Dog had issues with Black Hawk like your problems (diarrhoea etc) and never went back.
Almost everything pet is a ripoff these days, with food being at the top of the pyramid. Making your own is cheaper if you have the spare time, freeze and store etc. Then you know what you are feeding them. You could wean them onto it. There must be recipes from dog nutritionists online. Make sure your mutts are not hoovering up other species shit when out & about. That causes more probs than ppl know about. Most don't see or don't care.

  • Might have to taper in a new food. Try grinding up the fave food and sprinkle onto the replacement.

  • Hills Z/D and even black hawk has gone up heaps too

  • +1
    • This is actually somewhat helpful, thanks

Seems everywhere is expensive and/or high shipping costs - found one who wanted $1000 for next day delivery aha

  • I put up a post about the Natures Goodness grain free dog food from Woollies and got panned pretty hard for it, but I have three dogs and they have no issues with it.

And last time I was at the vet he congratulated me on how healthy they were looking, so there's that. Maybe buy a small bag and give it a trial?
