iPhone purchased through Amazon AU

Dear All,

I have recently purchased a brand new iPhone in Prime Day sale from Amazon AU.
Just want to seek your kind advice:-

  1. if this has the same manufacturer warranty (one year) just like bought from Apple Store?
  2. How to get extended apple warranty on the mobile?

    1) Yes if it's brand new and not registered previously.
    2) Settings > General > About > Coverage > AppleCare+

    1. Yes
    2. When you setup the phone you can purchase anytime during the first 30days from activation (I think)

Apple have global warranties, one year according to them, two years under law (probably if purchased in Australia, but they may honour it anyway). To get extended warranty buy Apple Care within a certain time period after setting up your phone. Or make sure your contents insurance covers your phone, either way is good.

I don't think the law limits your coverage to 2 years. That's just what apple volunteers.

What does it limit it to then?

Amazon AU is purchased in Australia….

    • This is a myth, there is no 2 year law.

Goods must last a reasonable time.

None expects a $2k phone to only last 2 years.

Who gives a shit what Apple think. That’s not how ACL is written.

It’s how long a “reasonable customer” thinks it would last. And I can assure you that the average customer would be pissed if their $2,000+ mobile phone failed in anything less than about 3~5 years. (Even though 98% of iPhone buyers only use their phone for a year because oMg nEw PhOnE!!1!)

Well, if they say no, what are you going to do about it Albo???

            • @jv: You assert your ACL rights and take them to claims court. It really isnt that hard, jv.

But as you're an LNP shill, I can see how you would just want to lay down and let the corporations keep you cucked into submission. Don't want to upset our corpo overlords… :D

Doesn't matter what Apple thinks or tells, they have always volunteered to fix phone without charge for a defect even if it is 2+ year old. The ACL rights are plastered across the apple store as they were fined for it

        • jv you should look at what Apple says:
          https://www.apple.com/environment/pdf/products/iphone/iPhone…

Use: Apple assumes a three-year period for power use by first owners for iOS, iPadOS, and
watchOS devices and a four-year period for macOS and tvOS devices.
          Product use scenarios
are based on historical customer use data for similar products. Energy use is simulated in
various ways; for example, by modeling daily battery drain or through performing activities
like movie and music playback. Geographic differences in the power grid mix have been
accounted for at a regional level.

All your blabbing about go read the contract/pds/etc and this time you obliviously didn't read anything.

          • @deme:

            you obliviously

            How is it 'obliviously' ?

            • @jv: autocorrect
