Interested to know if others have experience with what is the safest booking + cashback combo. It seems like cashrewards + booking.com might be because it actually has a cashrewards branded page when clicking through. Seems unlikely to get rejected in that case? However that seems to cap out at 12% cashback while Expedia + Shopback combo hits 14/14.5% which is tempting, but not if it will get rejected. Thoughts?

I find cashback generally pointless on most of the booking sites. For example I've been booking things on Agoda, and find that searching in Google Hotel shows the cheapest rates if I click through to Agoda, but if I go through Cashrewards, it resets the google referral, and I get a much higher price, so the cashback wouldn't be worth it.
I used to find it higher with cashback but recently I search first on the booking site then go through cashback and it's always the same price. I don't know if searching beforehand actually makes a difference but haven't had an issue with Expedia and Booking.com. Agoda seems to increase regardless once you go through cashback.
I get better rates when setting my VPN to Nigeria.
