Solt Portable Pizza Oven $211.20 in-Store Only / $264 Online + Shipping ($0 C&C) @ The Good Guys

60

Thought this is a good deal after 20% off on its clearance price. Much cheaper than OONI pizza ovens.

Info:
This portable pizza oven by Sôlt can cook Neapolitan pizza in as little as 60 seconds anywhere, anytime. The powerful 4.2kW cast iron gas burner has an output power of 14700BTU, which allows the oven to reach up to 500 C. This intense heat is also great for fish, veggies or meat. The slimline design also features collapsible legs, and a collapsible pizza peel and carry bag is included, which also keeps the oven protected while not in use. The die cast aluminium body offers ultimate protection, while the 10mm Cordierite Stone can be removed for easy cleaning

Is it as good as an Ooni though…

I have the Coles Monro and yes it is. Such a simple design. You really can't go wrong with the knockoffs..

for the price difference likely yes

Someone here put me onto the Kegland one about a year ago. Apparently it’s just as good as the ooni for half the price. It takes a bit to get the technique right but once I nailed it I’ve been really impressed with it.

  • Looks the same as the Arrosto, which I have to say works damn well

  • Shows $264 plus $12 postage in Sydney. (No local stock)

  • OP, you might want to state in your post that the 20% off is INSTORE ONLY - showing as $264 online.

Anyone had any experience with the Jumbuck Bunnings one for $199?

I have got it. I am not a pro but its pretty good. I would say give 2 to 5 minutes in between pizzas.
Real trick is the dough though. I think if you can make good dough and stretch it well any of these knock offs are gonna be good. They all reach decent temp.

I’ve got the jumbuck, it goes great. Unlike the Solt you also get a decent quality pizza cutter with it as well as the launching peel and cover.

I would strongly suggest getting a small turning peel as with any of these gas ovens you need to turn the pizza to prevent burning and the launching peel is too unwieldy for this task. I got this one, works a treat

bit of a FB community for the Jumbuck started over here https://m.facebook.com/groups/669162428130060

      • I've also got a jumbuck but haven't got it out of the box yet - can i ask what size turning peel you got as the amazon listing has 3 available on that link :)

The smallest(7") should be enough. I bought the Jumbuck too and got the 7" peel. Any larger and it will start to feel like it's too big to manoeuvre in the oven

          • @Easy Money: Yeah i was thinking that would be the case - i might order one of those and see how it goes :)

My local Aldi had a couple of their gas pizza ovens for about that price this evening; I guess they're the ones setting the price and everyone else has dropped theirs to match.

  • Are any of these knock off Ooni's capable of holding a 16 inch pizza?

  • Just wanted to get anyones thoughts on this vs the Aldi unit. Thanks!

    • the only problem I see with the Aldi one is that it has a rotating stone, which while logically it's a great idea in practice you want to heat the stone and turn the pizza to cook on the hottest part, but admittedly I haven't tried it out

  • Just purchased one from Erina, they still have a few there. Tuggerah also has stock.
