Ainol Novo 7 Flame 7" Tablet @ DinoDirect for AUD $164.79 Delivered

Just saw this on special at DinoDirect:
http://www.dinodirect.com/ainol-novo-ainol-7-ainol-novo-7-an…

What do ozbargainer's think? Is this model good? And is this the best price for this model?

This might have already been discussed on another thread. If so, please redirect. With so many models, it is difficult to keep track.

I like this one as I need something with WiFi and Bluetooth. Not much worried about 3G. A GPS would be good but not a necessity. However, my budget is AUD 180. Are there other models that get all the ticks?

Also, coupon codes that I could use on this deal wouldn't be bad ;)

Thanks in advance :)

  • this seems to be the star china unit right now

its as low as $150 from other places

however this biggest issue is the QA seems to be off right now being a 1st generation of this model (ie. only been released for a month or so)

    1. DinoDirect has been banned on OzBargain due to repeated spamming and sockpuppeting here.
    2. Ainol Novo7 Fire/Flame —> cheaper elsewhere.
  • Thanks, tonyjzx and scotty.

  • vipulrm,

I can do the Ainol Novo 7 flame for $175 delivered (with Tracking) from Oz if you're willing to wait a few days for me to get some stock and ship it to you. 1 yr Oz warranty and no cost returns for faulty products for 30 days.

I test every unit thoroughly before shipping so you won't get a dud, and if it needs to be replaced there's no $30 shipping cost or 6-8 week wait.

www.androtechno.com (The Novo 7's not on there yet, let me know if you want one and I'll add a product page.)

    • Thanks for your offer. I am still checking if there are other options. Will let you know if I do decide to get one of these.

    • I like your "About Us" and "Contact Us" page ;)

  • No problem, just let me know, I'm subscribed to this thread.

  • I understand aimol novo fire is for local consumption in China whereas flame is for into market with better qlty control. If overseas version of flame is supplied by androtechno, Ian interested in one but at a bargain price, maybe AUD 150

  • Sorry, if you want to pay AUD 150, you'll need to buy direct from a Chinese vendor, $175 is my absolute lowest price.

My vendor says flame/fire are physically identical, it's just two translations of the same word in Chinese.

  • Thanks Android Stuff. Though they are similar products, fire has many issues. Kindly go through the following and confirm from your vendor before you purchase from him. Then I will inform you of my decision to buy from you.

Many people mixed Ainol NOVO 7 Flame with Ainol NOVO 7 Fire. Some have bought NOVO 7 Fire from some online stores in China, and they thought that’s NOVO 7 Flame. Actually Ainol NOVO 7 Fire is the Chinese version for Chinese domestic market, not only the language is set in Chinese, it also comes with many Chinese apps. The English edition is called Ainol NOVO 7 Flame. Many people who bought Ainol NOVO 7 Fire have seen problems with touch screen. This is not unusual, because Ainol always picks the top quality tablets from their QA test for oversea market, while the ones selling in the Chinese market has lower qualities, therefore, slightly lower price as well. That’s why you can get Ainol NOVO 7 Fire with lower price than Ainol NOVO 7 Flame, because the factory price for those two models are different. This is a common practice in Semiconductor Industry: just like Intel sells the same chip with two different prices – the ones with higher QA score are marketed with higher frequency for higher price, while the one with lower QA scores are marketed with lower frequency for lower price.

We recommend customers to buy Ainol NOVO 7 Flame from Ainol’s official distributors in your region.

  • I have asked the question but even Ainol Novo's own website says that they are exactly the same product
    http://www.ainol-novo.com/ainol-novo-7-fire-android-tablet-p…

    (2nd question at the bottom)

There is no 'English edition' the website makes it clear that you need to request English setup for both models.

And Aniol Novo sell both models for the same price ($185.50 including shipping to Australia, $10.50 more than me)

Anyway, if you feel uncomfortable with the assurances given by both the manufacturer and the vendor that Flame and Fire are the same thing, then I suggest that you purchase elsewhere.

    • The flame comes in black packaging while fire comes in white

  • I fail to see how that affects quality, but as I have said, if you are uncomfortable despite the statement by Ainol Novo that they are the same, then I suggest that you buy elsewhere and I wish you luck in your search.

  • Thank you for the assurance. Get me one without Chinese apps butwith English setup, and with English manual. Pls see if you can get me a free case+protector. Otherwise ozbargain will blame me for not bargaining well with the seller:)

  • I'll ask the vendor about apps and manual (I don't think I've ever seen a chinese tablet without 2-3 chinese apps) and I'll ask about case, my vendor always provides a free protector.

    I'll let you know tomorrow.

  • OK, my vendor says that there are no Chinese apps on the tablet but that the manual is in Chinese, he is looking to see if there is a pdf of the english manual.

Let me know if this is OK and I'll set up the link on the site.

    • Thanks, I am advised to be little patient. Will let you know on making up my mind. Hope you are not hurt.

  • No problem, but be aware that my initial order was very small and will be sold to whoever orders first.

    • Hi ,
I am interested in buying Ainol Novo 7 Fire. What is your best price including delivery ?
My hometown is Glen Waverley , Melbourne, Victoria.

  • Hi Stumper,

I have not had any stock of the Fire since early November, none of my suppliers have any, price would be $195 including courier delivery

  • Ok. Thank you for your prompt reply.
Let me know when the stock arrives.
    Cheers.

  • I purchased my Flame from dino just over 3 months back & find it functions flawlessly.
At that time they charged $168Au with free shipping. They also had a cheap case/rear stand with the correct holes for the cameras etc I consider a very useful extra. I use it with a 32GB micro card as well as a 64GB flash stick, great for reading, storing/watching movies with hands free viewing.

BTW, My only association with dino is that I have purchased a number of items from them in the past year & have no complaints so far…
