Plus: USB-C 3.2, supports 100W-PD charging

Cons: The only downside I can see is the USB-C port doesn't seem to support USB-C monitors, just pass-through fast charging.

    Is it pronounced as Uh-gay?

    • +1

A bit like that country, “Urgay”

Mine says $49 down to $24.50?

What do people use these hubs for?

I just want to be able to connect two monitors to my laptop, so I need the other 8 in 1 one it seems.

    • +1

      Same

    • +1

Some of them you can do one monitor USB C, one HDMI, but not many. Research required.

  • Not seeing 40% reduction at checkout. Is this for Prime only?

    • Yes, Prime only. I'm seeing 25% off for the 8in1

  • Can I connect to a monitor over usbc? Or is that port for data only?

    • +2

No USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) support unfortunately, so no monitor over USB-C. Otherwise I'd buy without hesitation.

      • Thanks for confirming

      • What's this part about then?

4K@60Hz USB C to HDMI Hub】USB C to HDMI mirror or extend your screen via the HDMI port and directly stream a clear video image and authentic audio up to 4K@60Hz to external display without motion blur and noise.Note: The 4K@60Hz is only available for laptops with DisplayPort 1.4 and above.

          It's about the HDMI port.

To be clear, USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode) supports Full DisplayPort audio/video over the USB-C port (i.e., not HDMI) in addition to other data streams. https://www.displayport.org/displayport-over-usb-c/

This hub does not support USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode).

          • @kizzaaa: Might be a specific question, but whats the cheapest dock/hub you've seen with DP Alt and 65w+ passthrough?

  • Looks good to me - thanks OP!

  • Tempted to get this as a backup, is this any good?

    • Amazon Prime standard procedure is to buy, try it out, return if it's crap.

Thanks OP, this will make a nice spare USB-C dock thingy for when you can't find the right dongle to plug in whatever.
