Simple PC Recommendation Needed

Hi all, I need to get a simple PC just to run some business software, internet browsing etc.

The relevant recommended specs are:

Processor: 2.2GHz dual-core (must be x64 and support the SSE4.1 instruction set)
Ram: 8gb minimum
Storage: 50gb minimum

I'm also looking for the smallest physical size too, so it takes up minimal space.

Can anyone recommend something that would tick these boxes?

Thanks!

How much are you willing to spend?
If not urgent, wait for good deals here:

    • Thanks for the link - I didn't know that tag existed! It's not super urgent, but would like to have it sorted in the next few weeks. I'll keep an eye out for deals using your link 👍

Edited to add: budget isn't too much of an issue, but I don't want to pay for things I don't need.

  • FYI, the CPU requirements are basically anything made in the past 15 years. Any of the $80 SFF machines will do the trick

Only thing you might want to look at is what OS you need to run it and whether you want Windows 11 support. End of life for Windows 10 is 2 years from now, but you'll generally pay a bit more for an 8th Gen intel machine that supports Windows 11 (Windows 11 will run on older machines but isn't supported, so probably not worth the hassle for a simple work machine if it stops getting updates at some point)

  • ebay
Refurbished HP T640 thin client with 2.4GHz Ryzen R1505G 2C/4T CPU and 8 GB RAM $160
remove SSD fitted and replace with 256GB SN810 NVMe M.2 SSD $21-50
download and install Windows 10 or 11 without activation, or buy cheap licence

reliable, better built than your typical home pc
small form factor and very low power consumption
    no fan, so its silent
modern CPU that supports Windows 11
lots of USB3 ports, has ethernet, and may have wifi
requires a DP monitor, or a DP to HDMI cable if you want to run a HDMI monitor
