Rip off prices to start off with unfortunately

    • Nope. Proper office chairs like Steelcase or Herman Millers are 100% worth their price tags.

      • LOL. Even after the covid surcharge?

  • headrests on office chairs are overrated, and you can't change my mind.

Not here to change your mind, but chairs are a very personal choice and personally I like to lean back and rest my head.

I do however spend far, far too much time in a chair every day

      • I recall reading that the Leap headrest is notoriously bad, and a quick Google seems to confirm that. However it seems the Gesture headrest is at least nowhere near as bad, and so even if the value may be questionable it's at least something worth considering instead of outright avoiding.

As a barebones base-model Leap owner, I kind of want to try the Gesture, but at the same time I feel like I'd want to go leather and headrest to make it really feel like an upgrade …but $2000. Yeah not this year.

        • also a leap user and never had any issues with reclining for long periods without a headrest, its an over priced gimmick.

from experience my previous chair before the leap had a head rest which limited range of motion backwards and actually caused more instances of stiff neck.

    • Your mind is unsupported without one.

And headrests are great for micro naps.

Just purchased with headrest. Price wise it's not bad tbh… recccomend trying in a showroom as its not for everyone…

    • +1 to trying it out in store and checking out the different colour combos (seat back/cushion and frames)

Has anyone tried shipping to Brisbane? The site suggests it’s unavailable.

    • Yeah looks like no delivery for us :(

  • Purchased - thanks OP!

  • Do they have a return polixy if you dont like it? Live way out in the country… (guessing closest place would be adelaide to have a showroom and thats 800kms away)

  • They have Gesture in my workplace’s office. Was sitting on it the other day thinking how comfortable it was and how I was impressed with the range of motion on the arm rests, so I did a Google Lens to find the model thinking I might buy one for myself.

Saw the price and noped out of there. Honestly I could see myself paying $800 if I really wanted to splurge one day, but with so many other comfortable if lower-quality chairs below that price I’d have a hard time justifying it

    • Any recommendations for something cheaper? I'm in the market for a new chair but don't want to spend $800!!

      • I’ve got one that I think might be an older Sihoo model. Fully adjustable lumbar, back, arms and headrest. Full mesh, heavy metal frame. Has wowed friends & family that sit on it and they’ve commented that I’ve been a bit indulgent.

I got it for $50 from gumtree. Around that time, I saw it on sale for around $250 new. I think newer Sihoo models go on sale for around $300-400, maybe look at that?

Slightly more expensive options are the Ergotune Supreme v3 or the Newtral MagicH which both look better.

        • Thanks mate. Looks like Sihoo have a sale on now as well! Do you know which model you're using? They have quite a few on their website.

          • @cerveza: Mine looks pretty much the same as the Sihoo A7 or B7, with foam-padded armrests though, you can google image search that and match it to their current range

  • Reading online, see reports that "new" gestures from last few years have less padding near the tailbone and get uncomfortable.

Any ozb with an opinion on this?

  • steelcase chairs are not good
leap: curved seat and curved back = uncomfortable
gesture: no padding on seat = uncomfortable
