does churning from boost count as a new customer?

    • yes you can port from Boost but you have to contact Telstra customer service to get that done.
      Thanks

I'm betting it would be safer to churn to a cheap Sim then churn to Telstra rather than buy this and hope that Telstra customer service will do it.

        • Maybe kogan. Best for using as a IN-Out sim

          • @sedi: I shudder at the thought of having to deal with kogan in case something goes wrong.

There is definitely no need to go to another provider first. My wife and I go back and forth between Telstra and Boost without issue for several years now. My only recommendation is to call, as my last churn got stuck in limbo as I did it online (in the back end, it's going from Telstra to Telstra). But I have also done it via online, as have others, without issue in the past. Just safer to call.

I still don’t get why they cap the speed to 150MB. Especially as it’s actually Telstra.

    • Than this sim is very similar to Boost, if not same. Why should we buy this instead of Boost?

      • +1

The only difference is that this can be converted to eSim.

  • Damn I just bought the $365 365gb Boost Sim about a week ago

    Its Boost Pro Max 👍👍

Does this give you data on your Apple Watch?

    • +1

Seems to be post-paid only based on the Telstra One Number T&Cs and other forum feedback:

      "Usage and charges
All standard voice/video calls, SMS and MMS will be consumed from the post-paid mobile service, paired with your secondary device, on your account, for use in Australia."

  • Genuine question, what benefits does Telstra have over a reseller like Boost, Woolworths etc? I don't care about the download speed throttling, more thinking about reception, I remember in the old days Telstra resellers got lesser signal strength, is that still a thing?

It's a great price but I'm trying to think why I would upgrade from the reseller prepay plan I'm currently on.

The difference is full Telstra network (Telstra n Boost) or part of Telstra network (Woolies)

For iPhone + Apple Watch …
Will this work with Apple watch “One Number” ?

    • Would love to know this too

    • Requires postpaid plan, so nope

  • So other than more data and e-sim option, does retail Telstra give you anything more than Boost (with this offer almost same price point)…

  • Does data refresh per month? i.e. is it 18.33GB per month

    • Hi,
220 GB can be used on your own choice in a month or in 12 months. There are no restrictions time specific of usage on this.
      Thank you

  • Even though its bitter for me to give any money to Smellstra I couldnt pass this one up - thanks op

  • What’s the best plan for unlimited calls to Italy?

    • May be other telcos as well but just found out Labara (On Vodafone network) $39.90 Plan gives unlimited minutes to Italy.
      Thanks

      • sorry didn't mention that its 30 days plan. So you have recharge monthly.
        Thanks

  • Will telstra shop price match?

    • Sorry the answer is No.
      Thanks

  • Good post by the OP!
Im just getting tried of companies looking after new customers more than existing.
I understand they need to drum up business, but some sort of other incentives would be nice.
Telstra rewards doesnt add much value.
Even if every now an then telstra gave us bonus data for recharging on time etc. Probably cost them next to nothing to do.

  • Is that website reliable? Payment process is not normal. transfer to their bank account?

    • Hi,
We have more than 10k customers we served and 30-40% of them are bank transfer payment customers. Just for your kind information.
You can use PayPal as well.
      Thank you.

  • @oztechtraders
Bugger, I am already on Telstra Prepaid, expiring soon.
What other good Prepaid Options for me please?

    • Hi,
The other prepaid options are available on our website.
      Thanks

      • Only issue - add another SIM you then have to pay postage…
