    I just got one for free from Primeville Sydney last week. I'm curious though what do people use this for?

      Basically turns your old TV into a smart TV. But I find it a lot smoother and user friendly than my newish TV which is smart, I use a fire stick over TV.

        How do you use stremio. I thought it was a free thing not like debrid. But everything I click needs a subscription.

          It is free but i use debrid on it as well as it make the experience better. debrid is a very small price to pay compared to having every streaming service.

    If you can, spring for the Google Chromecast instead. While I find the firestick performance is better, everything else sucks. The virtual remote is absolutely terrible, doesn't control volume or turn the TV off and keeps disconnecting as soon as I tab out to check what I'm typing. It also randomly subscribed me to things a few times, we rarely use the TV so I know none of us did it, luckily Prime refunded but still.

    No issues with the Chromecast apart from its not as snappy.

      Really? Mine can turn the TV on and off, change the volume of the soundbar and I'm finding it a huge improvement over the built in chromecast in my 7 year old Sony TV which had started to get laggy and annoying.

        Weird, my app is fully updated and all it does is put the stick to sleep, then I realise hours later my TV is still on, just black screen. And no volume buttons. I have the 4k Max one as well. Do you use the Fire TV app? My TV and stick both have CEC control on and it was fine on the CC so I dunno why it wont turn off.

        I think inbuilt ones are not as good as the actual CC, my TV has a Netflix function built in but I never use it

      I recommend spending more on the NVIDIA Shield. Trumps both devices in my experience.

    2 of mine have some problems with their remote control. It stopped working for no reason, amazon did exchange twice but the problem still exist.

      same issue earlier and I let reset the power same as modem. check tv remote is not confusing the signals swapping around.
      check the moisture since it occurs holding for long time. lastly I recommend better to invest in remote cover.

    I bought this from amazon and return it because of this will detect same household of netflix. I have to switch back to my old version chromecast which i cast the netflix from ipad and did skip the household restriction

      @@JJkk "it because of this will detect same household of netflix"…. That's a restriction of Netflix and depends upon your subscription status, not the actual devices itself. Review your Netflix subscription or turn off a device (screen).
