350k AmEx Points - What to Do with Them?

Hi OzBargainers,

I have 350k+ Amex Membership Rewards points, and I'm not sure what to do with them.
I have the ability to get staff travel on Qantas, through my friend so I'm not sure if converting them to flight credits is the best option.

I'm interested in hearing your suggestions on how to get the most value out of my points. Here are a few ideas I've had:
Transferring them to a partner airline with better redemption rates than Qantas.
Using them to book a hotel stay.
Redeeming them for statement credits.
Redeeming them for gift cards.

What would you do with 350k Amex points?
Any and all suggestions are welcome!

Put on my big boy pants, make a decision and then just run with it.

I would convert them to Qantas points and then sell them on here, if it’s a 1:1 conversion rate there worth $3850 or $1925 if it’s a 2:1 conversion to Qantas

    • thats cool, how do you sell them?

Can I transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Qantas?
Only American Express Platinum Card, Centurion and Business Platinum Card Members, who are enrolled in the Ascent Premium rewards program, can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Qantas. All other Card Members (Ascent and Gateway reward programs) can’t.

  • I had the same question yesterday with my Citi points. I would have wanted to send them to Krisflier or Cathay, but as I can't travel in the near future I decided to transfer my points to velocity, because they won't expire. Although I haven't had any luck with redeeming velocity points so far. Kris and Qff have had heaps better availability..

So, long story short. If you are planning to travel soon, then send and redeem, if not, then send them somewhere, where they won't expire….or sell them.
