    Ffs bought 4x 68cm last week @ 148ea

    • I bought one for more than you. Needed it for a trip

Most people but it for trips, others need it to store dead bodies

      • They have "change of mind" return policy 🤔

I bought a 68cm one one week ago for $185. I asked if I could return it and buy it again to get the discount, and they sent me a refund of the price difference. Might as well try!

Came here to write this, refunded $148 but in form of credit.

Can confirm it survived Australia to UK and back with 23kg total

  • Is this an old model or something?

In the package I notice it came in set of 3 with RRP $375. They must take them apart and sell them individually to maximise profits.

They must be trying to get rid of these now because at this size it is flooded with options.

Not the best case, I've had another (same brand) that I paid $150 for like 15 years ago and that survived 10+ trips from Australia to UK return. This one I'd suspect would make 10 but not sure if it would go further.

i bought this 2 weeks ago but immediately returned it. Received new sealed but full of dents and microscratches out of the box.

Also reason why it's cheap it's because it is ABS, which is one of the least durable material for suitcases. Spent a little extra and got a different model.

What other model do you suggest?

      • I went with the curio book opening one. Handy for my japan trip so i only need to open one side. American tourister currently has 30% off + 15% discount if you sign up to newsletter. Took a chance and did cashback for extra 15 lol. Spent a hundred dollars more than the skybridge but the build quality is night and day.

        • does this have a usb port by chance?

        • This one is made from POLYPROPYLENE, which the Kmart premium one's are as well.

          • @dandandan: Yes most luggages are made mainly from ABS, polypropylene, and polycarbonate. Doesn’t mean they will have the same body and handle construction, stitching, wheels, warranty, etc.

That being said, the sky bridge posted above vs the Kmart one, I’d pick the Kmart one if I were on a tight budget. They don’t look too bad either!

    • Do you suggest polypropylene and polycarbonate?

      • I have a couple polypropylene, they flex a lot more than abs so I guess less prone to cracking.

      • Both are good options and are more durable. Polycarbonate would be the most durable but would sacrifice weight. PP would be a good balance.

        • Oh cool. I bought the Antler Clifton Set for $586.32, and was a bit worried as didn't know if polycarbonate was the best choice. But got sucked in by the lifetime warranty and full colour choice (only certain colours were discounted at Strandbags).

Just having some regrets over the 5kg weight of the large case.

          • @Tiggrrrrr: Oooh, that's heavy!

If you still plan on getting one that's durable but super light, Samsonite's C-lite and proxis series is the way to go. I have a 75 and a 55 c-lite. The 75cm is just under 3kg and have taken it to many trips over the last 8 years without any issues. :)

  • 55cm version for $99 - is the dimensions really only 31cm? On another site it says 36cm. Thanks

4.9 is a bit heavier. 4 kg would be perfect.

  • Agree bit heavy

  • ffs, bought 3 of the $700 model from the last post, return and get these?

  • Personally I wouldn’t be travelling with American written on any of my luggage due to the state of affairs in the Middle East.I’m sure I’ll probably get a bunch of negs oh well.
