  • read this as 24 cans… bruh

    • thanks mod for updating title

Also thought it was for a 24-can carton at first.

Just returned from Japan, where you can get the 500mL sour/chuhai cans from multiple brands for about AU$2 each and about $1.60 for this size.

At this price, would just mix myself using some cheap white spirts, soda water and lemon flavour to get same result.

      • You could say that for pretty much any premix. Also given the taxes over here it's tough to do a direct comparison on overseas prices, otherwise we may as well all do a WatchNerd and neg all booze posts because you can buy a bucket of cocktails in Bali for a few bucks

Sure, but even allowing for transport costs and higher alcohol duties in Australia, can't justify these as any sort of bargain at three times the retail price compared to the country they are produced in.

I didn't neg this and not going to neg all premix posts, just pointing out why I don't think this is a bargain.

Agreed. At $99/$105 per 24 it would need to be a heavenly drop - one that you couldn't even get close to mixing yourself. This seems v unlikely to me.

Edit: That said after some quick math you'd need 396ml (or 56.57%) of a bottle of 40% spirit just to match the alcohol content of this deal and then you have to add the other ingredients and make it taste good, so you'd have to put a little thought in. Then there's the convenience of the cans. I may just have killed my own argument. Bye.

        • At $36 for this generic vodka after the coupon, that's $22 for the alcohol.

          www.firstchoiceliquor.com.au/spirits/cleanskin-vodka-700ml_7…

Believe me the vodka or other white spirit used in these cans is usually the lowest of low grade, so probably a nicer drop even with a generic vodka like this.

Add 2L home brand soda water and small lemon juice, adds about $3.

So $10 more for the convenience of cans.

  • $35 with code in ACT.

  • Drink all 8 and enjoy the headache

  • Sorry how much!?

  • Already $4 each at bws (2 per person, per day)

Import shops were selling these for double this price before Kirin started proper distribution here so there is that. Unfortunately there is no way to recreate the nostalgia of pounding a dirt cheap conbini chu hi as you walk down the road. Still going to buy some though.

$10 per can is pure robbery lmao thankfully good import shops sell them for $5 or under (I've seen it go on special for $3 sometimes)

    This one tastes great!

Also quite good. Degenerate would be strong 9 tall boys.

        hard to believe they're both 1.6 standards/can, only 0.3 grams of sugar & ~120 cal/can

Can easily put away 6-8 before a night out
