Bose Discount Code for A30 Aviation Headset?

Hey bargain hunters!

I'm looking at getting a new ANC headset, as I'm learning to fly and Bose have the best ones on the market, comfortable and very effective; but sadly they don't offer any discount for student pilots or the like.

It's basically cough up $2050.00 or go without, and all resellers are obviously led into the same price fixing, much like Apple do.
(How they can claim they're worth over 2 grand is beyond me!!!)

If anyone has any discount codes or ways to get these a bit cheaper, I'd appreciate it greatly.πŸ™πŸ‘βœˆοΈ

Cheers
Dave.

    Hi Dave,

I have access to the employee portal for a company that receives 25% discount on RRP from Bose - I've checked it for you, and unfortunately, these are showing for $2050 on that website :-(

    Sorry. couldn't justify my username.

LoL, just by trying to see if it works you have……. I'll bluetooth ab OzBargain smiley sticker to you πŸ˜ƒ

      I appreciate you trying πŸ™.πŸ˜‰

Just to share, a few years ago, I purchased ithis (active model at that time) for a contact who is also a pilot overseas, and it came with $150 free wireless earbuds. This is a commercial item, so it is expected that people on Ozbargain barely keep an eye on this item.
My point is, if you are not in a rush, wait for BFriday, may be they have something bundled as a free gift.

        All the best

Thanks, yes I'll keep an eye out. Worse case scenario I'll bite the bullet, but hoping to get something by Xmas.🀞

  • Flight instructors and commercial pilots might be eligible for a rebate.

    https://boseaviation.aero/programmes/profpilot/

    • Yep, those on the big bucks can afford it I guess 🀷. No point buying a cheap version first and then upgrading, I'd prefer something decent, just trying to juggle lessons, books, uniforms etc 😏😏😏

But it appears as though it's full price, or nada; just like Ford with the model T. You can have any colour you like……black, black or black πŸ˜‚

      • Yep, those on the big bucks can afford it I guess

It would also be tax deductable for them so get back another 40%ish….

      • As a Pilot, are you allowed to claim GST on your way out? - might help you save 10% :-)

        • Not if you're a PPL.
I Think you're referring to a commercial pilot flying airlines, which won't be me., πŸ˜”

Surely you would get a David Clark headset. Has half of your name written all over it.

Learning to fly in your mid 50s is a great effort. Good luck and happy flying.

    • Never assume that number relates to an age, and yes DC are the usual suspects in flying schools and all major ground crew headsets, but for flying the noise cancelling option is just superb……….why oh why did I let my instructor loan me a pair of superseded A20s?!?!?! πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

      • why oh why did I let my instructor loan me a pair of superseded A20s?!?!?!

Sounds like you really want them, so bite the bullet and just get them and cut back on other things for a while…

        eg. a $5 coffee each day = $1,825 $1,830* per year….

*(next year is a leap year)

  • Funnily enough, I can get a whopping 2% back with cash rewards, but Shopback aren't currently offering the Bose store.

I guess $40 back is better than nothing, unless there's anything better that's probably the best I can hope for.

(I DID actually call Bose and email them, & both avenues were greeted with a 'no'.🀷🀷🀷

  • Have you thought about getting a 2nd hand a20 with a refresh kit?
Some people are upgrading, so you might get one cheaper?

    • No actually, great point thanks πŸ™

  • I've been holding on to a pre-Blutooth A20 in my cupboard for the past 7 years. Bought it from an aviation business sale that went out of business (spare unit), but never did anything with it.

  • Get a second hand set of A20s, they are pretty durable, so they last. Well and truely worth it even at full price for the A30s, particularly if you are flying in controlled or busy airspace. I bought second hand of A20s for 900ish and it was well and truely worth it over the passive David Clark’s for me.

  • Ok, I ended up biting the consumer bullet and investing in my hearing …..$2050 poorer, but OHhhhh was it worth it!!!πŸ™πŸ‘πŸ€ŸπŸ˜πŸ˜Ž
