Shortly after importer Charles Lazzara had his first son, Lorenzo, he traveled to visit Alessio Povero at his winery in the Piedmont region of Italy. Charles wanted to make a wine with the Povero family, using native grapes from historic vineyards that date back to 1837 to celebrate the birth of his first child.

Together, Alessio and Charles would make a range of great wines with the structure and depth of old vines balanced by the freshness from younger vineyards in adjacent hills. Paying honor to the older, more experienced vineyards while ushering in the new generation full of hope and energy…much like Charles was doing with his new son Lorenzo.

The Italian names and back story always sounds exotic and making the wine taste better than actually is. This one looks good for Christmas present :)

  • Reviews of this wine on costco and other websites not promising

I reckon Bec Hardy offer better wines in this price range, and you'll be supporting a local business.

    • @bruceclipse thanks for the kind words Bruce :-)

At $24.97 delivered it would have to pretty ordinary to be a loss. You will find it overseas at up to US$40.00

I ordered this morning on that basis.

  • Well I'm just back from from 4 weeks around Italy.
1 bottle of wine a day. Mostly on the cheap side. Didn't find one we didn't enjoy.

Didn't see a screw top bottle anywhere so I reckon you'll have to dig out the corkscrew.
    Mine arrive Monday
