    still too expensive

  • Anyone tried similar to green tea Buddha?

  • The do sales on Amazon all the time

  • Trying to like green tea more (re: high polyphenols, longevity evidence) but struggle with the flavour. Wondering if graduating from tea bags to fresh leaf will help, and where's the best place to source fresh for the dollar?

As someone who was in a similar boat, try these things:
      1. Do not use boiling water. Around 90 is what you want. (I don’t have a way to measure mine, so just put the boiling hot water in the cup and let it sit for a few minutes before putting the bag in).
      2. Only let it steep for about 3 minutes.

If you do these, you do end up with a lighter, sweeter tea. It’s a lot more drinkable.

      • Thanks for the reply.

My kettle has temp control and I use 80°C. I use a timer to steep for 2mins (and I've tried shorter times).

I don't appreciate any sweetness. I find it bitter, with a chalky taste/after-taste.

You can try some different brands perhaps, but if you still don’t like any it might just not be for you. Could always take green tea supplements, but I think I read that the efficacy decreases. YMMV.

        Take it one step further
        1. use cold water
        2. steep it for 30 seconds

You will end up with sweet and delicious drink.

You see where I am going, right? ;)

No discount on English Breakfast :(

  • Brought to you by Unilever.
    Buy from boutique small stores.
The tea won't be mass produced and will be way better quality.
