Toilet Blu, Anyone Still Add These Things to Make Your Toilet Water Blue?

I like blue toilet water so I'll put in those Aldi toilet Blu pucks into the toilet cabinet thing. I don't think it makes cleaning any easier, from what I can tell anyway. Doesn't smell any better. But I like the look of blue toilet water. Brightens up my poops.

Anyway I think this is more of a thing people did a lot more in the 90s, but Aldi still sell them so they must be popular enough. So do you do it? Any why just blue, why can't we have pink or yellow toilet water?

Look when you wipe? Unless you have a bidet.

    • Poop in ice cream container then add to toilet pan after Border Security inspection.

I’m not a fan, reminds me of the 80s and going to the toilet at friends house as a kid, which always freaked me out a bit.

I have used this though as I got it as a sample and it did make the bathroom smell nice and kept the toilet cleaner https://www.coles.com.au/product/bref-deluxe-rim-block-toile… didn’t colour the water though. I also got a blue and yellow one as a sample and it was revolting smell wise and I had to Chuck it out. I don’t buy any of these things though as it seems like a waste of plastic.

I've tried those, but they seem to get nasty quick.

Mine stayed okay but I guess it depends how many people use the toilet. I have my own as the lady of the house and the man + boy share one that’s their responsibility.

I do put food colouring in my kids bath though, he picks a different colour every night and loves it. Just a few drops so as not to stain kid or bath.

    Jay's Blue - I feel like a new loo.

My mum still uses them, even has the basket types that sit over the rim. God knows where she finds them. When I visit I reckon I resist the urge to piss on them about 50% of the time.

Your mum: Mission 50 % successful.

But might be for real. Plenty of bars put pictures of a single fly or something in the urinal because guys tend to aim at it.

Aldi has one that is clear, it's a bleach one.

"why can't we have" "yellow toilet water?"
may never get flushed, if it's yellow let it mellow

Just top up the cistern with Adblue every 10,000km

Doesn't it cause the seals in the cistern to deteriorate faster?

Doesn't matter, the whole house will probably be rubble in a few years.

        You live in sydney ?

Adelaide, area that is recently increasing a lot in land value. Which I don't understand because it's under the flight path of the airport. You can hear the engines of the planes idling and the windows shake when a helicopter goes over.

    • Yes.. it will destroy the toilet eventually. Mine is now leaking after using one single Zilch tablet

  • I drop a block in to the cisterns occasionally, I find it keeps the toilet cleaner in general, but some brands work better than others. I just buy what's on special so long as it's not Bref, which is rubbish.

The blue colour lets you know how long it is lasting. When the water starts to run clear again then you the block has finished.

    • Actually I did notice when I first started using them again that a lot of brown/black gunk was around the rim of the bowl, but the more I kept using it the gunk didn't reappear. Maybe it really did clean the cistern/bowl rim out of the gunk in it.

Toilet Blu, anyone still add these things to make your toilet water blue?

    toilet yello is much easier

  • I make my own yellow water.

  • I use the blue blocks. I can't seem to find the home brand ones anymore in Coles or WW in Darwin. I got the Bref S&S on amazon at a cheap price. Then the price has skyrocketed now. I reckon it keeps the toilet cleaner. Easier to identify if the water is constantly running down the bowl with the blue streak.
