    of all the nuggets I've tried, the coles tempura nugs 400g at $4.40 is probably best value best tasting imo (in our current economic environment)

      Agreed tempura all the way, maccas style… the Aldi tempura are similar price and very good .

    Where do you get $26/Kg from?

    Product is $13.25/Kg.

    Even taking into account chicken content of (only) 57% you don't get over $24/Kg

    Still too much.

    I suspect this product is targeted towards those who want free range chicken. There’s not many free range nuggets so when half price this is a decent deal. Can’t really compare with plain chicken breasts as it’s a convenience food.

        I’d say it’s reconstituted, but many home made chicken nugget recipes anre also made this way, by grating frozen chicken and mixing with thickeners etc. I think that is what differentiates a nugget from a tender or bite (though some of those are made from reconstituted chicken too)

            @Hasbulla: Yes, they are made from free range chickens and would be classified as an ultra processed food by virtue of being a chicken nugget.

    I am pretty happy. I like nuggets but do not enjoy eating caged chicken. Happy to have a free range option!

  Would anybody consider what oil they are actually using when the ingredients said vegetable oil? Personally I’d avoid palm oil by all means in my family’s daily meals.

            @TEER3X: Yeah 100% but I also understand that all other horrible neutral oils, they have crazy impacts too. Canola etc are stealing biodiversity areas in South America at 9 time the pace of palm. No orang utan in there tho

      There's also a large amount of deforestation making way for palm oil plantations. Not like we can do much about other countries allowing this to happen, so the smallest thing we can do is attempt to use as little as possible.
