Wireless Streaming Amplifier

G'day,

Looking at options to install in-ceiling speakers in my outdoor area. I am after something that has decent power to drive some decent speakers. Looking at possibly a set of Yamaha NSIC600 or NSIC800 or the Jensen EHT-303 or Elite-404 speakers and pairing that with an amplifier. I have been looking at the Yamaha WXA-50 but is there something else comparable but cheaper? There are a few brands such as TIBO, ARYLIC etc but I don't know too much about this.

Thoughts?

Thanks

  • Consider that smart speakers have made these wired setups pretty much redundant. You get better sound quality with easier access to your music library.

  • Yeah I guess it just comes down to volume and sound quality. I have a JBL Charge 5 which I use at the moment but wish for something with a bit more juice and a cleaner look (hidden)

    • JBL Charge is smaller than I was thinking. Start with Bang & Olufsen A9 and work your way down from that price point. Depends if you want ambient music or a doof-doof party vibe?

  • If space is not a constraint, consider a 2nd hand AV receiver (Onkyo, Denon, Pioneer, Marantz, etc) that is a few years old. Just make sure it's new enough for the streaming services like spotify, etc.
