Panasonic Microwave Oven 44L Inverter (S/Steel Fascia) NN-ST780S (Refurbished) $220 Syd P/up

90

Hi all,

I was looking around for a replacement microwave to upgrade from White to Stainless Steel… Looked around a few places and found Panasonic NN-ST780S (Refurbished) at Panatech Parramatta (Authorised Panasonic Seconds Outlet) for $220 Pickup. I picked up an A-Grade Refurbished unit from them in absolutely BRAND NEW CONDITION with 12 Months Warranty. The cheapest i found this to be selling as a refurb was on ebay for $295 and Brand New for $420 (RRP $499) at Harvey Norman and Good Guys. Excellent Microwave overall with all necessary features usually required.
Panatech Warranty and Customer Support is excellent from personal experience and upon asking they said no problem even after 12 months they'll look after (No Labour).

Appologies to fellow OzBargainers in other States, they might be able to post if you ask them.

  • bought our panansonic microwave from them a couple of years back at a bargain price. Was listed as refurbished but could not find any issues with. came with all packaging, booklets. Would recommend them.

They used to sell on ebay as well.

    • Yes, this is my second Panasonic Microwave purchase from them. I bought the first one 5 years ago (Also Refurb) which is still working strong but had to change for Stainless Steel look to match the kitchen… Their products are excellent (Have bought a few Panasonic Cordless Phones from them at bargain prices previously).

My wife just paid $381 at the Good Guys for this today so good price for a refurbished model. It is one of the few large microwaves without convection (expensive).

  • My experience with the Panasonic microwaves is that the push button door mechanism breaks pretty easily and is expensive to fix if out of warranty - >$100 repair…

    • how long did you own that before it broke the door button?
i've gone through many microwaves before and the first thing that always break is the internal electrical.

      • I've owned 4 Panasonics in 10 years, buttons broke on each between 1 and 2 years.

Retravision salesman told me it is a common fault.

Have a Big W Sanyo now - no door opening button, just a big ass handle…

    • Buttons can break on any microwave depending on how u use it. My previous microwave was a panasonic and used for 5 years, still in perfect condition!

  • I cannot believe that they refurbish such low dollar items.

    • What do you mean, look at how much they can resell them for! $220 for a second hand microwave, lol! Bargain!

  • I wonder how they refurbish the microwave. There might be hygienic issue involved if it is not done right.

unless someone's been microwaving a hamster in there….

Refurbished items are not always used… They could be Dead on Arrival as well as Returns due to change of mind. The unit I picked up is an A Grade refurb and is in Brand New condition (I am unable to find any signs of use)and A Grade refurbs are usually in Brand New condition. I requested to open the box and checked the unit before making payment. Further, I believe a company like PANASONIC would not compromise on Hygiene when selling their products…

You should be worried about refurb earphones or underwear, not microwaves. I bought a factory 2nd iron which was as good as new except for non original packaging. Panasonic would not risk their rep on stained and splattered refurb microwaves.

Very good price for a SS unit. I prefer LG for their round cavity and better warranty but this price is too good if you're looking for a new (massive) microwave.

  • We purchased a new panasonic microwave for $350 odd earlier in the year.
It lasted about a week until it threw a h9X something error.

Sent it away first time they said nothing wrong with it and asked if we have it in an enclosed area which we don't
so we took it home and videoed when we took it out of the box and turned it on. Straight away it threw the same error. Second time they told us to take it back to the place of purchase for a replacement.
Recently Panasonic introduced a replacement warranty on microwaves under $400.

I was totally unimpressed by this stage so I swapped it for a chest freezer.

  • If this is an inverter, that's an absolute steal!
If not an inverter, meh. Great capacity and look, but meh.
Once you invert, you never go back.

    • Its an INVERTER :D

  • I bought this brand new from good guys 2 weeks back for $327. Heats food great but the button is already starting to stick. Nice microwave but wouldn't buy again. Check the productreview website, reviews aren't very favourable. Wished I'd checked it first, was an impulse buy.
