iPhone 15 Pro 256GB Blue $1999 Delivered @ Reebelo (Price Beat $1899.05 @ Officeworks)

1211

Reebelo currently has the iPhone 15 Pro Blue 256GB for $1999. This is only a 2% discount from the RRP of $2049.
However I was able to get Officeworks to price beat it, which brings it down to $1899.

And of course you can also stack it with your Ultimate Gift cards etc…

Not super awesome, but better than nothing.

Tbf the price beat price is based on the 2% off price from Reebelo.

However I do agree that depends on the local OW, they might not do pricebeat for online stores. So it is anecdotal at best.

      • +8

Its in their policy to price beat online stores that have an ABN, its cost of goods + postage

        • +3

Ah ha. Learned new things everyday! Still $1,899 is quite a big asking price.

          • -1

how many hours/day do you use your hphone

ihphone 15 pro should easily last 4-6 years

      20c/hr for 5 years 5 hrs/day

      • +5

Yes, but I could also buy a phone under 1k for t he same mileage

        • +17

maybe but you're unlikely to receive as many software updates or remain as generally usable

given their track record, cannot trust google and their claim of 7 yrs of updates for pixel

          • +1

@Gdsamp: or also brick your device after a certain number of years to stop even basic apps from functioning correctly

          • +4

@Gdsamp: My iPhone xs from 2018 is still running like a champ. Battery replacement gave it a new life. Feels like a new phone.

        • +11

Which phone under 1k is going to function smooth after 5 years, care to share?

          • +6

@pizzaguy: Pixel 8 pro, s23, pixel 7 pro, etc. Not that price now but have been in the last few months.

Pretty much any flagship offers updates for five years now.

            • +1

@ginormousgiraffe: My S21 lasted a grand total of ~1 year before I gave it to my mum and switched to an iPhone 12 mini. The S21 was nigh unusable in summer conditions due to thermal throttling and performance problems. Exynos was the death knell of my Android use (I know they've since switched out here in AU, but I got burned strong enough to switch camps).

              • +13

@anonywhy: My s20 fe has been going strong for three years with no issues and that is an objectively worse phone than the s21 and only cost $600 from memory

                • @ginormousgiraffe: Pretty sure the S20 FE doesn't have the Exynos chip, so I believe you.

                • @ginormousgiraffe: I got my Poco X3 Pro from AliExpress when it launched for $360 and it still runs pretty well. Battery life is not very good now at 120Hz but if I go down to 60Hz and battery saver, it'll last 2 days.

The processor is still very fast and photos are decent. And I've dropped it a dozen times and changed the tempered glass 5-6 times.

              • -1

@anonywhy: I don't know about your experience switching to iPhone. But my experience was underwhelming.
Perhaps I was expecting too much.
When iPhone overheats it completely locks the phone. It was overheating more than I was expecting.
Android doesn't do that which results in slow down and crashing. But you can still use it while trying to cool it down.
Phones with SD8gen2 are far better in thermal performance than last gen thanks to TSMC.
Haven't bought any galaxy for years due to Exynos. 23 been great so far.
I would like to know if you have experience the same or not.

                • @Mi2: Where were you using the iPhone? What model? It regularly gets to 40 degrees here at my place and I've never had an overheating problem with an iPhone, been using them since the 11 series. It's also not true that they completely lock the phone - first they will dim the screen brightness.

                  • @MrFunSocks: 13 pro max. Due to my job I'm constantly under the sun during summer.
iPhone screen goes dim a lot faster than Galaxy. Leave an iPhone for 1 minutes under the sun and comeback to use it.
All you see is a black screen saying "iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it".

                    • @Mi2: I've got an iPhone 13 Pro, have for 2 years, and have literally never seen that message. My phone has gotten hot, has dimmed the screen to almost unusable outside, but has still never shown that message or stopped working. I don't work out in the sun which obviously means it's not 1:1, but never had anything close to that same experience.

@ginormousgiraffe: P8P 256GB is $1799, so only $100 cheaper than this deal and its processor G3 is 3 years behind Iphone 15!!
Actually was thinking to get P8P 256 but this year price is way over priced, so considering to get Iphone 15, unless P8P pro price drop by at least $500

              • @huntabargain: But p8p is equivalent to pro max iPhone, not pro

                • @Sindex: true, but nearly the only difference bet the 15P and 15PM is the screen size 6.1" vs 6.7", unlike the P8 and P8P. I would think that the larger size phone would be awkward to place it in your pants pocket, might not be as an issue for ladies with purse / handbags.

                  • @huntabargain: I was thinking about the cameras. Not sure on the other differences

              • @huntabargain: You could have got it for 830 a month ago

                • @ginormousgiraffe: I could not get the HN offer, as was stuck away, but other offers were/are very limited.. So I refuse to pay that ridiculous price, hopefully more offers come again in near future, as I don't believe many would pay its RRP.

            • @ginormousgiraffe: Apart from Apple, only google on the Pixel 8 series offers 5 years or more. Everyone else is 4 or less. Apple give 6+, easily the best on the market.

The Pixel 8 Pro also isn't under $1000, it's almost the same price as this iPhone lol.

              • +1

@MrFunSocks: Samsung has offered 5 years of support for years now. Even on their cheaper A series they have been offering 5 years of support.

                • @Ronnnie: Not for all phones, and it's only 4 years of Android version updates.

                  • +1

@MrFunSocks: Yes 4 years of Android version plus 1 year of security. And I don’t know what phones don’t get the 5 years of support? I even recall watching a video by one of the big tech YouTubers last year about how Samsung support a $150 model for 5 years. It’s really impressive how they can produce a phone for so cheap and then support it so long. Apple want to sell you a usb type c cable for not much less than that. lol

          • +1

            @pizzaguy: IPhone 13

          • @pizzaguy: Pixels regularly under 1k or at least way cheaper than 1899 (and you don't even get the premium iPhone for that money!)

Galaxy phones also good for 4 years and can regularly be had on sale.

I was sad when my dad recently spent 1.5k on an iPhone with a 60hz display that he now has to keep for 5 years to justify the price.

            • +1

              @Sindex: P8P 256GB is $1799!!!

              • @huntabargain: Pixel 8 pro was already on sale with massive gift cards or free watch which makes it way cheaper, and it's equivalent to max pro, not max

                • @Sindex: yes true, JB was the only store had pre-order offer which lasted a week or so. Telstra had free bud which also expired, but honestly most people have already ear buds. If someone manage to OW price beat this phone, they can also pay with GC of 15%, so that would make it even cheaper ~$1,615..
I am comparing current prices and the processor of P8P is 3 years behind the latest iphone processor.
I have Galaxy S10 and was hoping to upgrade to P8P 256GB but at this price, I don't see the value, unless its price drops by at least $500.

                  • +1

@huntabargain: Quick check on ozbargain shows many good preorder offers, and will inevitably be in sale again soon. I personally have galaxy s23u for around $1k which is faster than pro and has 10x optical zoom, I honestly do not get the value proposition of iPhones, even before the repair and accessory scams. The $1500 entry level model has appalling specs. Only the pro max is comparable to other flagships

@pizzaguy: My pixel 2 XL did.

            • +2

              @lookingforadeal7: My pixel 2 XL does ;)

              • @urbancartel: They are great phones I wouldn't have upgraded to my 7 Pro if it wasn't for the battery in my 2. It wasn't so bad but if I had Bluetooth on it would only last about 4-6 hours on full charge.

                • @lookingforadeal7: Yeah my battery is pretty shot and i'm ready for an upgrade - but it has been an amazing phone!!

              • @urbancartel: Also side note dropped my Pixel 2 XL 100+ times no case and minor chips on the outside, my Pixel 7 slid off my desk and now I have hairline cracks on the inside of the screen… Definitely going backwards in some departments.

          • +2

@pizzaguy: I mean depending on how much cheaper it is you don't need it to last 5 years you can just buy a new midrange phone every two years and still come out way ahead. And that's not even accounting for losing/smashing it.

My strategy is to get <$300 phones (e.g. moto g52 atm) and it costs about as much to replace if something goes wrong as an iphone costs to repair.

          • +1

@pizzaguy: My $300 Mi Note 3 from 2017 lasted until last week lol running Android 13 and then it died :(

            • @iPodVideo: I had a samsung s5. the last samsung I had before changing to iPhone.
Third month with it I had to send it to warranty, had no phone for 2 weeks.
It literally died after 2.5 years.
Had my iPhone11Promax for 4 years now, only got a new battery as I use it way too much every day for driving around, apple still offered me $440 for it.
It is slow now yes, but I can still use without any issues.

          • +1

@pizzaguy: This is also almost 2k, if I spend twice under 1k phone it will surely last longer than this one iPhone.

            • +1

@BinnyC: And the phone you buy in two years for $1k will be way ahead of the iPhone that people are hanging onto to justify the excessive price (if they haven't smashed it yet)

          • @pizzaguy: My Oppo Reno 5g a flagship device from 2019 works as good as it did when I bought it in 2020.

        • @pizzaguy my wife still using Huawei Mate 10 pro 128gb, storage is running out cause all the photos, other than cosmetic damage/wear, the phone still solid and smooth with all the apps on it.

Year 2030, living in a dystopian nightmare formerly called 'Canberra'
Still clinging to my 256GB iPhone 15 like a lifeline

Have to cycle through them hourly, verifying identity like it’s my job
Apps are as bloated as a tick on a dog, storage screaming for mercy
Forced to uninstall each app after use to make room for the next
iPhone constantly judging me with every spare compute cycle, probably plotting my demise as well as its own

      • I have 220+ apps on my phone. They're about 45 GB, out of which 20GB is my lifelong WhatsApp history. Photos from the iOS camera are separate.

From what I heard, apps on Android take much more space.

        • +1

Not true, but the OS depending on which brand phone you buy may take a big chunk of the storage especially Samsung with their over the top added software features. I have the S23 and I have disabled most of their features.

Pixels uses a lot less storage for the OS.

    • bargain the top of line is $2899!

    • +1

And next week very high chance another rate hike, no F way in this universe I can afford a $2k phone these days anymore

      • Disagree! I encourage people spending $2k+ or even more on phones and gadgets so that they have less cash to buy essentials. Then my grocery bills will not be inflated.

    • World's most expensive USB 3 port

  • +4

Not super awesome, but better than nothing.

    Better spending 1899 ? LOL

  • +17

I love tech, but people need to stop spending stupid money on phones. If people don't buy it, the next ones won't cost more again.

10 years ago they cost half as much. My current Samsung wouldn't be much different, but I wouldn't pay retail or more than a grand for any phone.

    • +1

These are used as status phones. It is used to show people that you have more money. So people will continue to buy them. The more expensive, more the show off they are rich.

      • +1

Do people actually notice what phone people are using these days?

Do you also get upset by luxury cars?

        • +1

          Probably.

I dont get upset becuase others use expensive phones. I get upset because that status trend is driving prices of technically good phones upwards. I am more of a technical person rather than the one gets jelly. And I feel bad I have to pay more for the same grade phones that were much cheaper few years ago.

        • +1

Just like driving a Bimmer it has the same virtual phallus extension…..

      • +5

I don't think I've ever looked at someone and gone "wow you have an iPhone it must mean you have money". You'll find iPhones in housing commissions. People buy it cause shiny new black box and existential void must be filled.

      • +1

Here what you do. Buy a screen crack XR and change the body to an iPhone 13 pro. Should be enough to bling on the cheap.

        • +1

I dont need to, technically a 850 bux(on deal) brand new S23 Ultra will do a better job than iPhone. Used phones to show are for iFans who cannot afford them but still want to show off.

          • +1

@John Doh: Don't have an iPhone. Just saw on YouTube technician fake changing an XR to iPhone 13 pro body.

      • Buying an iPhone doesn't mean you're rich.

    • +8

Or people can choose to spend their money on what they want instead? lol. iPhones hold their value pretty well and some are happy to spend a few hundred a year for the sake of new phone / new warranty / better camera / sometimes better screen and other niceties. Especilaly when with apple the transition to new phone is so seamless

    • +1

      https://www.perfectrec.com/posts/iPhone15-price

      Cheapest iphone since 07 apparently

      • 100% agree but…. you're not living in US and current USD to AUD ex rate is about 1.6x…

    • People need to stop wasting money buying them every second generation. The argument here is Apple are worth spending the more money on because you can get six years+ of use thus better value in the long run over the Android phone that supposedly dies a lot quicker (not my personal experience). The longer you use the phone the cheaper it costs becomes, even if the initial price was astronomical. From what I see most people though buy new models every couple of years, so the more expensive models may not work out any better value longterm.

I like tech too but I am disappointed with every new model I’ve upgraded to. Since the improvements aren’t massive anymore and even after a few generations you aren’t seeing a huge upgrade like you used to see in one generation. Add to that the entry cost for a flagship model now is up to 4 times more than it used be back when improvements were actually big each generation.

  • Appreciate OP for the deal and im sure some will buy, but I agree. almost 2k on a phone youre incentivised to scrap each year is getting ridiculous

    • +4

Nobody scraps a 1.5k phone every year, not even Zuck
It’s getting so expensive because Apple knows everyone clings to theirs for 3-5 years now.

      • +1

        And it holds it's value.

      • Samsung will offer a trade in…
Wait for the 24 series to make Apple prophets look old…

      • I’ve upgrade my iPhone pro every year since the 13. Why? Cause I wanted to.

      • +1

You will be surprised how many idiots upgrade their 14 to 15 LOL
