If anyone doesn't mind buying very lightly used and is able to pick up from surrey hills, victoria , the owner of trak racer (Matt Sten) sells stuff they used for conventions like pax, for discounted prices.

Don't know if I'm allowed to link facebook stuff that isn't pages. But its in the Sim Racing Australia Buy Swap And Sell group.

    • hes got a bunch of the $599 seats with defects at the moment hes selling for $200 if i was local id buy a new rig and a defected seat

      • Never buy the seats. They are where they make their money. Massive markups on low quality stuff. Better going to a wrecker and picking up a proper comfortable seat. $600 for a toy seat is ridiculous. You can get a real bucket seat for that much.

        • seen a m4 red seat with all the bells and whistles for $850 the other day i was quite tempted.

    • Every time I contacted him about his ads on FB he said he didn't have any stock so I ended up buying second hand NLR Elite

      • Yeah, sometimes it goes fast.
You'll usually have a couple of days at most. The single stock items are often gone in 24h

        • fair enough, it's hars to tell as he leaves all the ads up. (the ones I saw nearly 12 months ago are still there)

Saw a reddit thread this morning where they were complaining the pre-black friday prices were cheaper than the black friday prices. Particularly the shipping which more than doubled. That was the european store so not sure if here is different.

    • This didn't seem to be the case with the Australian store, at least there were no changes to the price in the prior month that I was watching it.

  • This or pay more for Sim Lab from Europe hmmmm….

    • God i wish I'd bought this over my next level rig. Would have cost a fair bit more, but i wouldn't be looking to replace it if i had..

Next one i buy will be end game tho, so was looking at sim lab.

Hybrid Racing Simulations www.hrsims.com.au has Sim Lab, I got a P1X from them this year.

They are out of stock a lot of the time so message to find out when the next batch arrives.

Customer service from this shop is also ace, highly recommended.

Isn't this better value than mk 4

    • I was close to getting that GT Prime rig, basically these are all aluminium profiles and they both has very similar 160 profile specs.

However, the seats in GT Omega wasn't very desirable. I've had recliner seats and they so flex a lot and can be annoying at the expense of adjustability. I'm using the TR Rally Seat with a memory lumbar support which solves for ergonomic support for most who needs it.

Both are great choices and pretty identical. Important tip is to have good castors installed before assembling the rig. Don't get the ones from GT Omega as they're not durable. I have had mine RMA'd twice

    • I have the GT Omega Titan, and haven't noticed any flex with a CSL DD 8Nm kit. Would buy again. https://www.gtomega.com.au/products/titan-cockpit

What the hell, did GT Omega literally shut down their Australian business within the 22hrs of you posting this lol. That link doesn't work for me :(

  • The shipping is hoprrible partic if you;re buying small items - I bought their cup holder on their Catch shopfront with free delivery!

  • Can I please ask for some guidance for a suitable frame and seat ? Have a csl Elite wb + Lc pedals.

I don’t need the best and i don't want the worst. Is the tr8 the sweetspot ? Recommendations for a seat please?

Definitely on a tight squeeze cheeks budget. Other brands to consider ? I only run a single screen UW Screen.

    • TR80 lite might fit you, still aluminium extrusion so lets you add accessories easily, have used a tr8 and the tube construction meant that any accessories pretty much had to be specific to that rig.

I purchased the TR120 with the recline seat

Also know of next level and gtomega that are stocked in Aus. Check out Boosted Media, they've reviewed quite a few frames.

      • Why do people buy the tr8 for a non 8020 style rig?
Yeah ive got a lot of research to do. Thanks for the starting point. 7h vs 1h to assemble the tr80 vs tr8 :O

        • Mostly an aesthetic choice. Differences between brands of aluminium extrusion frames are mostly how thick the aluminium is, as not all profiles are the same.

      • Hopefully someone can comment on the three brand comparisons mentioned

I got a TR80 Lite a few months ago and am happy with it. I think it was $500 delivered.
I am using a $90 seat from wreckers. Did small changes in the original layout to better accommodate the seat and improve the pedal position. With profiles, it is pretty much LEGO, easy to modify and add accessories.

Assembly is annoying, but is worth it.

  • Thoughts on Next Level Racing vs Track Racer?

    Heard it’s a lot better

    • I currently own a TR80 bought 2 years ago… It's not bad, but I wished I had NLR because it opens up the option to get NLR's motion and other accessories.

  • Cheers OP, just got the TR80 for my Fanatec DD Podium

  • Is it easy to install a seat from the wreckers on to a TR80 or any other frame?
