Is There Any Bulk Billing Doctor in WA at All?

From 30th of Oct, my clinic doesn’t bulk bill anymore.

They say it’s due to Medicare change of billing and they only bulk bill concession card holders and 16yo and under.

The fee isn’t too expensive about $30-40/ consultation out of pocket but I still find it disturbing.

Why do I pay Medicare now? Any option not to pay?

Sure, stop earning an income and don't pay taxes, you'll stop contributing to Medicare.

    • Can’t do

Its the same at the local Dr I've been using for 20yrs… now no bulk bill except if they feel like it and for some kids stuff.

Livingston GPs bulk bill on weekdays and the scope is all patients that have a current valid Medicare card.

    • Yes, they are good.

  • WebMD

    • Just to add onto that, Medicare have added higher bulk billing incentives for concession card holders and patients aged under 16 yesterday. Unfortunately Medicare screwed up the incentives and it's currently broken. So attempting to bulk bill at practices currently is a real issue.

It's not a chicken egg argument. It's an existential fact

        • I’m not so sure. World population will stabilise around 11 billion. Robots are coming. Once we start mining asteroids, everything’s peachy
