Mobile Plan for couples

Sometime ago someone wrote about a plan that looks like would suit a couple
Something like the call each other free, text is also free, and it's like less than $20.
We both are very very low mobile phone user as we work in office full time.
But do like a bit of data.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Maybe you are thinking of one of those Vodafone or reseller (e.g. Redbull) plans with V2V minutes?

Another possibility is Woolies $29 (-10% with EDR) for 45 days with $250 Optus money.

Mobile plans are more than they appear to be at first glance.

Before looking for a suitable plan it is best to assess your usuage pattern for both and then go from there.

Some telcos may say $200 worth of call credit for example.. but within that what is the flag fall and per minute call rate?
One telco may have 35c flag fall and 99c min rate while another will have zero flag fall and 12c or 9c call rate for their $200 allowance.
There is a big difference in what your allowance will give you when you look at what is behind the bold headlines with offers.

Like you we are light users as well and most of our calls are to each other but still would like to make other calls as well occasionally without them costing several dollars…
I just swapped over to amaysim as you go plan and while calls & text are not free, overall it is as there is no monthly fee.. check their offerings… There are no lock in contracts so you are free to go at any time with no penalty.

It is a nice change to see call charges shown as cents rather than dollars on the bill.

  • If you can put up with Voda, the Crazy Johns prepaid looks very cheap for low use, and each recharge gets 500mb data.
Includes unlimited on-net calls (crazy johns to crazy johns). Recharges start at $15 for 90 days. http://www.crazyjohns.com.au/flatchat/

    Anybody using them?

I recommend TPG. $17.99 for $550 for calls and text and free TPG to TPG mobile calls so you can talk to each other 24/7.
My girlfriend and I have this plan and works great. I never reach the $550 mark or barely even close to it. It also includes 1.5 GB of data.

    +1 for TPG.

I'm on the $29.99 ($34.99 if non TPG) as the $1000 value also lets you call international numbers.

You don't get free text to TPG on the lower value plan, only free calls TPG to TPG.

  • +1 for Amaysim. I have never seen better value – and I still haven't found anyone beat it.

Their plan is under $20 like you want, and with unlimited Amaysim-to-Amaysim calls and texts, it's perfect for you and your partner.

Not only that, but it's got not just a bit of data, but a heap – 500 MB to be precise! The best part is it's even got credit roll-over. You seriously can't go wrong.

What's fantastic is they don't have any contracts, so you can sign up just to try it out; if it doesn't suit your needs, no problem…

If you're interested, sign up using my referral URL so we can both benefit ($5 credit for both of us :)

    • I am interested too.As i used 3 network $20/ moth with $180 credit and 250mb.That plan is BYW.
Lets me know if you want
