There Are So Many Edifier Speakers - Which One Is The Most Bang for Your Buck?

Hi OzBargainers,

I'm overwhelmed with the number of Edifier speakers (just to name a few):

R1010BT
R1280DB
R1380DB
R1700BT

All of these speakers seem highly rated by everyone - in your opinion, which one would you your choice (for desktop use) and why?

On a side note, are these viable for use as TV speakers as well?

Cheers,
T

    A free one.

Get one of the 2.1 setups. The speakers are smaller than the bookshelves and you get a subwoofer. https://edifier.com.au/collections/tv-home-theatre

I've got the S350DB hooked up to a TV and it's awesome (for the $350 it cost me).

    • Second this setup. Sounds awesome for a small townhouse living room.

My Edifiers popped after two-and-a-bit years and I never heard from them again…

When I opened them up they were so packed with glue I couldn't fix it (coincidentally the total opposite of the person in that thread who did).

Would not recommend although Amazon was superb with a refund.

My R1700BT speakers lasted 12 months and a week. Just out of warranty šŸ¤·

  • Whatever is on special?

On a side note, are these viable for use as TV speakers?

Kinda, yes. But you have to adjust the bass and turn it down otherwise voice on TV sounds awful. I use the R1280DB for Music and TV in my garage. If I am streaming TV (like the footy or supercars) I have to turn down the bass.

Same for when I am on a video call. Need to turn the bass down for video calls.

  • I have a pair of R1280DB and I use them typically for TV speakers on the spare telly.
They're a substantial improvement over the internal speakers on the TV.

  • I have the R1850DB with a Topping D10S connected to my PC and think they are absolutely amazing bang for buck
    Highly recommend this combo
