I have been looking for decent cordless clippers and almost decided this would be the one. However, I noticed that they only offer 1 year warranty here instead of 5 years they offer in the states…. dont know what to say. they cost nearly $500…. any other good option at a decent price?

Not uncommon for US made products. Americans can return things to the factory for a quick and easy repair, over here they have to send you a brand new item.
Not sure why you would need a warranty on clippers anyway, they are mechanically and electrically very simple. I had a $20 set last 11 years, onto a new one now just because I wanted something that felt nicer.
Ask the local distributor why.

make sure you are comparing like for like. (compare serial or part numbers)
Why $500 on clippers?
I've had some Wahl clippers (used fortnightly) for 10 years and going strong. Cost about $80 though not cordless.
Edit : just googled model and saw they are for animals. That makes sense - especially if you're doing horses.
