Picked up some (other brand) past date non alcoholic beer from Dan's the other day. $20 a carton. Tasted crap too.

    • …why?!!!

      • To try it and I know some people who sometimes don't drink so it was something to have at home. I mean it was 20 bucks only so meh why not.

OZ bargain selling stale , pretend beer now ?
And they still want to charge money for it , may try to sell ice as well !

    • +2

Bags of ICE have been sold at servos and other places for decades.

Wow old beer for with no alcohol for $35 + delivery surely isn't a bargain. What's going on here?

    • +4

      Terrible deal wtf lol
Once I picked up a slab of great northern cans but they were only $12 or 15 all up, and near best before, no shipping cost. All these are worth to be honest.

      • +1

Yup, they should cost the same as 24 cans of Pepsi

        • +2

surely no alchol taxes on them, but understand a bit of production cost brewing them (like any other beers).

  • Normally Id ignore 'bEsT bUy' date bs, as it is not 'Use Buy' date.
It is usually an imaginary unicorn date created by the producer to get you to throw them away earlier than needed so you buy more, or it is an estimated date that the item is definately still at its best.

But.., with things like softdrink (yes I know this is beer) the carbonated drinks only last 12 months (3 months for the diet ones) and after that timeframe they tend to end up tasting like pure soda water.

Not sure on the science behind it, but at a guess it means the ingredients possibke separate and therefore dont taste like expected. I have heard Beer is similar if not less shelf life. Also heard shortened life span if cooled, heated, and cooled again.

So.. my 2 cents would be caution with this item. If you can find the manufacture date you might be abke to formulate your own risk factor with buying this type of product.

Agree, I can imagine soft drink and any other carbonated drinks would go flat after a while or less than ideal.
They should just get rid of it cheaper if they want it gone.

ps. what do you think about stuff like coconut icecream?

      • ironically theyre still carbonated from what i recall.

amd yes. if you want it to go put it at a real discount price.

no info on coconut icecream sorry.

  • Is this a joke
