What's that got to do with a cpap deal?

        • +7

I guess i bite because i was skinny as a rake when first diagnosed. At least you acknowledge it's not a factor in every case. Probably also worth noting that having (untreated) sleep apnoea also increases your likliehood of being overweight. So yeah, dumb comment on several levels. Nothing wrong with the occasional bit of trolling though. ;)

@Fredorishi: Diagnosed in 2003 with OSA at 105kgs here, paid $2,800 for my first machine and mask. Major ker-ching.
Combination of self loathing and delicious salty treats got me to 165kgs. Had weight loss surgery, got to 84kgs and successfully maintained for 9 years since.
Still on CPAP and my required pressure has only increased for some reason.

Keep forking out thousands with this one simple trick! Doctors h̶a̶t̶e̶ buy second boats because of him!

@codenamesharp: Good on you for keeping the weight off. Impressive effort. I find cpap frustrating too. Still dont feel spritely in the mornings. Quite the opposite. Persist with it mostly due to the other health implications if not.

  • How long the deal is valid? I’d a test few days back and expecting results soon, pretty sure I would need one lol

Shop around. Now that the s11 is out, lots of places selling s10 cheaper.

    Ozempic has entered the chat

You dont have to be overweight to have sleep apnoea.

      • -3

of course but tell the stock market that

        • I didnt realise Ozempic was being marketed as a sleep apnoea cure. Weight reduction can certainly help in some cases.

          • @Fredorishi:

You dont have to be overweight…

Weight reduction can certainly help in some cases.

            True and true.

Epidemiology (statistics) will elucidate this more.

And yes, the contrasting movements of the share prices of Novo Nordisk and ResMed are related to the market's pricing efficiency factoring in the impact of GLP-1 receptor agonists on rates of overweight and obesity. This is one direct relationship between the sales of CPAP machines and weight.

I bought a similar package - same package without the CPAP pillow - for $1340 last week at NSW CPAP. Full price for the pillow at Resmed is $50.

You'd qualify for free delivery, and NSW CPAP have four actual clinics across Sydney, and one in Canberra.

FWIW I upgraded from the S9. The Airsense 10 is way quieter IMO. And has a nice feature where it doesn't ramp up the pressure until it detects you are asleep. It is larger than the S9 though - the humidifier is integrated.

There's a side-panel you can buy for $20 if you don't use a humidifier - and in Sydney we don't need one IMO - that makes the 10 3cm or 4cm narrower Still a bit taller / chunkier than the S9 though.

Airsense 10 is a lot quieter than my Airmini too. Both the Airmini and the Airsense 11 use the same (smaller, faster-running) motor, I have read elsewhere. That and the price of the 11 ($2000-ish) decided me on the 10.

    • +2

Good to know about the side panel, I never use humidifier on the 10.

    • Same. The new one just didn’t offer enough for the price difference and I didn’t like the smaller motor with more noise suppressing foam. It made me go for the 10 over the 11 and I haven’t regretted it.

    • Thanks for this. I'm still on the fence about upgrading from my trusty s9. Still waiting on peak discount for the s10 but hopefully not so long that they're all sold. 1200 bucks for a new air pump is still damn expensive in my world.

Not a deal. NSW CPAP has had a cheaper price for around a year - Airsense 10 kit w/ 4g modem.
Just because you have the 4g back in stock, that doesn't make it a deal.

  • Anybody with experience think that the 11 is worth it over the 10?

Check out "CPAP reviews" on FB for lots of discussion re same.

  • 70% of NFL players have sleep apnea

    • I could potentially play in the NFL?

  • Resmed will price match the machine within Australia.

  • LOL.
Just bought it last week from my respiratory physician who gave me 40 percent off with
the price of $1800 for both arisen 10 and a nasal mask. I thanked him a hundred times without knowing the actual price from cpap NSW or arisen. 🤣

  • Bought it 2 months ago with extra air touch cushion, filter and wipes.
    No pillow though.

    For $1310
Forwarded the receipt to my friend and he got a price match last week

  • Cheaper when you buy all the bits separately from NSW CPAP. I used the cheapest pillow (I have no experience with the pillows I sleep on my back) and the P30i (which imo is the best mask) it came to $1451.

            • @muwu: Lil'?? That's a bit disrespectful. I've got at least half a decade on you around here. Unless of course you're referring to your weight in comparison to mine? FATTYDOO! Kidding! I like you. You're just like me :) except lamer.
