    • Was about to spend $800 for an ex demo at ple but luckily found this haha

      • For 800 just get a udm pro 🤣🤣

udm pro needs access points for wifi? or does it have wifi built in?

          • +1

            @joseal21: Needs aps

@Leho: A udm pro + a few u6 lites is insane and not extremely expensive for an enterprise/prosumer network

            • +1

@Leho: ah thought so. probably gonna need to take out a loan to have that and aps in every room 💀😭

              • +3

@joseal21: Every room???? I only need 2 lites to cover my whole house + garage (admittedly not very big)

    • Different line.

  • na just exajerating lol. prob need 3 max 4

  • Much of an upgrade over an ac pro? Looks like screen plus wifi 6.

Is ubiquiti still a buggy POS? It seemed to go downhill with the udm pro from what I've read in ozb comments

    • There is always going to be bugs when new features are added till they perfect them

    • Probably a loud minority… Every platform has bugs, ubiquiti do fairly well in terms of them with multiple release channels.

I run updates on a monthly cycle and I've never run into a bug that's caused headaches in years.

  • This, plus some wireless access points, or the eero6 mesh deal?

Oof, all but full price on the NZ website.

  • OOS

  • Any idea how they’re able to sell this for soooooo much cheaper than anyone else?

I picked some up a few months ago for a fairly similar price and the seller told me they're clearance as they haven't sold well. Not super surprising as they were very expensive for now a fairly outdated device.

      • Makes sense. Given that it'ss a model that's been around a while, are there any features it's missing that you would get from newer routers?

        • No Wi-Fi 6E is the main one, but ultimately comes down to what your devices are capable of the majority of devices I have are still Wifi 5 so no real loss. Ultimately I really like these units and at this price they're a bit of a steal. I bought 2 for a full featured mesh system.

  • Picked up one of these semi recently… half expecting to receive a brick or something at this price… but it was legit & has been a great upgrade over my previous router which was starting to get a bit sketchy.

As mentioned in the post, the AU model (any international model really) is dual band only. The 3rd radio (wifi 5/ac 5Ghz only) is only included on the US model.
