Hi guys, I picked up a remote control Ferrari from the local Salvos store.
Except it's not working so I'm thinking of getting a replacement battery pack, or can I just get a charger for it?
Can anyone help where I would be able to find this?
Thanks!

Those arent even NiMh, Ni-Cad is what that uses. Seemingly junk unfortunately OP
NiMH would be the replacement for them. They are the same voltage. You might even be hard pressed to find NiCd batteries now as NiMH is a far superior construction.
What I don’t recommend doing is swapping them for LiPo or LiIo batteries, as they run a much more different voltage. The same configuration as a LiPo would be a shade over 20v.
FFS Ozbargain link bot. Just search on AliExpress. There's heaps of replacement matching batteries and chargers for about $5.
Similar but 700 mAh.
Everytime I post an AliExpress link I try to clean it up as much as possible but there's always some affiliate trigger I leave behind. Does my head in.
Just remove everything after and including the question mark. I'm guessing Scotty leaves it up to us in case there's anything useful there.
Did you mean these ones?

Just in time for Christmas 2024
Take the battery in to a model shop and ask for a new or matching battery
Yes, but you would need to change the plug on the car or make an adaptor to match the one on the battery and charger…
Why would I need to change plug on car? Different connector?
Because the battery you want to buy has a SM-2P plug, and the car has a different connector
@Pbm33: It looks like the car has what is referred to as a "Tamiya" connector.
You can just cut the old battery connector off the battery leaving some of the cable coming out of the plug and buy a SM-2P plug to fit to the other end to make an adaptor…
OR
Toss it all in the bin because it's useless and broken and just buy one of these instead.
Trade it in for a Hyundai
the NiCD batteries are rechargeable, but its hard to find a charger for them.
Ok decided, I'm getting rid of it. Thanks for the responses guys.
Donate it back to the Salvo store :)
Shortest Enzo ownership in history.
Keep in mind that you will be blacklisted by Ferrari for flipping it that quickly. Up to you.
You should be able to get a refund because it doesn't work.
A basic charger for that battery should be cheap. The one supplied with my 2004 Tamiya clone outputs 12V DC @ 250mA (trickle charger).
That car appears barely used.
It’s not really worth it, hence the reason it was handed into a Salvos shop.
It’s a 6 cell, NiMh battery. You can first check the battery voltage and see if it is holding charge. You may be able to find a USB charger for it on eBay or somewhere else for cheap to test if even charges.
Failing all that, you should be able to get a replacement battery from a variety of places, but you spoils spend upwards of $30+ and then find out the problem is within the electronics of the car and not the battery.
