Cordless Hair Clipper - Lithium Ion

Hello,

I'm looking for a replacement Hair Clipper - with a Lithium Ion Battery.

My last one (Wahl - made in USA) unfortunately died, after 5+ years of use…. I believe it may have been a beard clipper lol.

Anyways, just after a reliable alternative:

A) Wahl Lithium Ion - made in USA

B) Philips Hairclipper Series 5000 (silver one) - $68 from Myer this week. https://www.myer.com.au/p/philips-philips-series-5000-turbo-…

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

I got this one, https://www.shavershop.com.au/wahl/lithium-ion-express-stain… probably around 10y old, did change the blade tho.

Do you cut your hair and cut it close? I do mine to a zero and this is excellent:

I’ve used pretty much every brand and budget and for practicality sake this kills everything because it is so easy to use. The wide head makes it faster too

Wahl have better blades, yes no denying that, but I would take this over any wahl I’ve used because it is so much easier and faster to cut your own hair

My current one is about 4-5 years old and used once or twice a fortnight

    • Absolutely love this thing, went from wahl corded ones to this and won't look back.

I do the beard and hair with this thing, works great.

If you need a spare this is more or less the same thing sans brand.

I’ve got one and dare I say it it’s as good as my Remington one over the past 6 months I’ve had it for. The down side is You don’t get the same amount of combs but your Remington combs will work (I use the 1.5-6mm combs on my Remington. It’s great to travel with plus comes with a usb charging cable

I bought it as a ‘I wonder if this is the same thing’ and yeah it pretty much is

    • I've been looking at that model to replace my own corded clippers.

Would it work well with the number 2 guard, or do you think it's best only for no guard?

      • +1

It’s excellent with all guards of you cut your own hair and essentially give yourself a buzz cut. If you’re in this category you’ll never look at those $200 Wahls you previously had no matter how many times the people at shaver shop tell you how good they are

FYI it goes by millimeter sizes and not a number specifically. Depending on your current clipper, roughly a 6mm or 9mm is the equivalent of a No 2

  • i have the phillips one works, no complains

if you want wahl head to costco they have it usually and cheap ( i got a corded and mini cordless one previuosly).
