Hi. Never had an Interest in Soundbars, never heard one TBH. Always had/have full 5/7/9.1 systems. Looking for a Sounbar 2.1 for my Son. Under $500 preferably.
Any thoughts.

I've not heard one yet but read good things about the Polk MagniFi Mini AX. Tiny centre speaker too for the WAF
I bought the full-sized one from eBay (refurbished with full factory warranty from the distributor). $200 and it is excellent (although I do have a proper hifi for when I really want proper sound)
I got the Samsung 2.1ch Soundbar, model: HW-C450/XY. Retails at $349 but you can find this on sale in the early to mid 200's. I got mine for $200 because of ultimate gift card sale and good guys had a one day sale on it.
I got this model because you can upgrade to surround sound in the future, as I don't watch movies or TV at home very much. Plus the bass on this is pretty damn good, I had to lower it as it was quite heavy in default settings. The sound is crisp too.
Is this the one without HDMI… so you connect to a Samsung TV via Bluetooth?
Yes you can connect it via bluetooth to your samsung tv. I connected mine via optical cable cause i'm lazy lol. Here's the manual: https://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/UM/202305/2023051…
I'd go listen to a few in person before purchasing, be prepared to be underwhelmed if you're used to having good speaker setups at home. They sound better than standard tv speakers, but I certainly wouldn't say they sound good/great.

Quite a step up from 2.1. Mainly just for the separate centre channel alone. Available from other places at this price as well.

If your eyes were not wide shut you would see that it's not mission impossible . I'm sure a few good men around here will highlight the top gun of sound bars to avoid any risky business.
