What Cheap Cordless Stick Vaccums with Replacement Batteries - Now and in The Future - Are Available?

Hi all. Just considering getting cordless stick vacuum. Yeah, i want cheap cheap, and i'd go for the kmart one, but i don't want straight-to-landfill-after-a-year cheap cheap. And i'd want to get one that has a replaceable battery, or else, ya know, it goes landfill.

It's a stick vacuum, i'm not expecting miracles. Just lightweight, decent suction, tiles and carpet, and one of those little docks on the floor so i can put it in to let it charge.

Any ideas guys?

  • Define cheap, what is the budget?

  • I acquired a Miele Triflex HX1 pre-owned for $120

  • I already had tools in the Bosch DIY 18V system, so I got a Bosch vacuum that uses the same batteries. I figure those batteries will still be made for many years.

  • +2

The bigger the brand name the better. Adaptors/spare batteries for the Dyson V7 to basically any tool battery are very common, Kmart ones won’t be.

Unfortunately cheap and long lasting don’t tend to go together either, I’d look around second hand.

  • Love my ryobi stick vac

    • i have the hand vac version and love it.
      paired with 9ah batteries

        Upgrade to 12ah

Cheap and landfill generally go hand in hand.

  • Got any 18v power tools? Consider one to match your batteries.

  • I got a Dyson v7 on marketplace for $50 because the battery was dead. Replacement batteries are like $40 on Amazon, takes about a minute to replace and is very easy to do.

Hasn't skipped a beat in the 2 years I've had it

  • You read my mind. I was going to create a similar post. I have had couple of stick vacuums but they only last a year or two before the batteries fail and it is either too expensive or almost impossible to source a replacement battery for some models.

Dont feel like spending couple of hundred dollars every 12-18 months on a stick vac and then we also have to worry about the robot vacuums but they thankfully last a little longer than the stick vacs.

I just found that ozito also sell a stick vac and reviews are also good although only by 7 people. Cant find any other reviews on the internet but looks like it may have been recently released.

The best thing is many of us already have Ozito batteries are they are also widely available and cheap with 5yr replacement warranty through bunnings.

I am planning to give it a try.

    • Right up my alley.
Don't mind getting something compatible with your average powertool, long as i can find something not to expensive.
