  • Can this device be used to add yet another video output to the PC?

What happens if all the video output from the video card on the PC is already fully used - and/or if the CPU itself doesnt come with the iGPU component?

I checked the listing on Amazon but still quite confused.

    • All good questions, for the price, if it could suit your needs you might as well purchase & try out different configs. Worst that can happen is you return it via the free, easy & quick Amazon Prime way ;)

    • You need to have a USB-C port that outputs video (which is pretty common in laptops, but not for desktops). If you do, then it can output from that to 2 monitors, as long as one is HDMI.

And what VGA devices are you plugging into, a fax machine? Ok, that was me just being silly, but I really wouldn't expect much from anything that still has a VGA port.

haha no not buying this for a fax machine :-)

I am thinking of a desktop but yes i think the USB-C dont do video - so this device is probably not very useful for me.

Might need to toss a cheap second gpu into the box if you can fit it.

DisplayPort over USB-C needs a GPU output, and video won't go 'up' one CPU lane and 'down' another, i.e. GPU > motherboard lane > CPU > motherboard lane > USB-C. I had this battle myself with a USB-C dell portable monitor (and also a targus DV4k).

I was running a gt 1030 and an old hd 7850 when GPU prices were sky-high and I just wanted a fourth screen for work
