As the title suggests, I am curious as to what you fellow OzBargainers believe is the recommended
internet speed for cloud gaming?
Am mainly asking in relation to the PS Portal but as most of us know it would be the same requirement regardless, right?
Are you referring to cloud gaming or local streaming? Two different things no?
The PS portal requires a solid local connection, generally if you can plug the ps5 in and use wifi only for the Portal you'll have a better time. (this will be my setup, yes I've pre ordered the Portal.. We have a one TV household rule generally so between partner and I we swap TV use, so it'll actually be quite a useful device for me..)
Actual cloud gaming from cloud servers will be quite different. Host and server location will matter a lot more here.
Yes, sorry my bad. I was under the impression that the Portal can connect to a PS5 remotely?
Oh that's great! Once my area gets the FTTP upgrade from NBN next month I should be good.
I had a pennding order for the portal via Amazon DE for its overseas release date, but luckily it was announced for local sale, but for next year.
The portal doesnt support cloud gaming from PSN services. You’ll only be able to game stream from a ps5.
As above, mimimum speeds will be required for game streaming.

Good luck. I have 200 mbps for remote play with ipad m2/ip14+ and still very laggy and the graphics were box like. I guess you need 1tb and above to play/stream "OK".
Ended up playing back to desktop with 1-2 pings at CS2.
