Heaps of ads and sales around steel wire brush plates. Sales videos often show magical work done by these trimmers. Have any of you used this, what is your experience?
I have 18v Ryobi and wondering if I can easily fix one of these and achieve decent results. Mainly to clear weed growing between concrete groves.

Nope, severely under powered, you would be lucky to get any momentum at all, let alone enough to scrub concrete :/
Source: I have a 25cc trimmer, and that barely has enough torque to keep a steel wire brush plate spinning on contact!
Thanks. Any recommendation? Although mine is a smaller block, enough overgrowth to warrant a blade cutter or a wire cutter right now.

Should be light enough with enough momentum to get through tough weeds!

The Wire ones are decent, but they are super heavy compared to the above!
From what I've heard, they seem like a good idea until you end up picking little bits of wire out of your shins.
I just winced looking at those pictures.
Few minutes using whipper snipper after every mowing session will do the job and give you a peace of mind.
