Best USB Wi-Fi Device to Enhance Signal >10m

Hi Everybody,

I'm looking for your advice on what is the best USB Wi-Fi device to enhance signal that is greater than 10m away from the Wi-Fi router and really looking at a budget of under $100.

I have researched around and wasted countless of dollars buying useless D-Link 'plug-ins' that don't even work properly,
and even TPG based products but haven't found anything worthwhile and hesitant to buy as it may not even work as intended…

Anyone have any similar experience/ let me know thanks?

Are you looking for a wifi repeater that plugs into a usb power cable or a USB wifi dongle with good range? Two different devices.

For a repeater, the travel router Hybroid linked would work. Just put it in repeater mode somewhere between your router & the devices you want to get signal to & it will re-broadcast your wifi signal.

For a USB device, you want something with high gain, possibly directional antennas. Alfa networks gear is good but you pay for the brand. There are other options but they can be hit or miss.

Wifi extenders / repeaters really suck, since they usually broadcast on separate SSID's, there's no automatic roaming and your device will stay connected to the weaker signal even if there's a stronger one that's closer by, until you manually disconnect and choose the stronger signal.

Mesh routers are universally a better choice, TP-Link Deco kits are usually in the $120~$200 range, eg Deco S7.

There's also powerline networking kits that come with their own wireless access points, but they may cost just as much as a mesh wifi kit.
    e.g Netgear PLW1000-100AUS

Do not replace your repeater with yet another wifi repeater, all that money you spent on repeaters could've been better spent upgrading the wifi router to a longer range model or outright replacing it with mesh wifi.
