  • Been waiting for a deal like this! Anyone got a .edu.au email address I could use? 👉🥺👈

    Mate, you are a legend for sharing this. I just did it and it worked!

    Order is confirmed, even though it was showing out of stock when i first searched for it.

    • +1

      excellent! that's why I was so specific with the instructions haha.
      I was paranoid that it may have been a bug with my app. glad it worked bro. $1110 is a steal for this monitor.

        hopefully our orders don't get cancelled. Granted I have email that says order is CONFIRMED

        • +1

          yep, they sent me a confirmation text confirming payment and time of expected delivery.

            @derekab95: They have stock on the main website as well as of now just checking. Maybe very buggy website?

            • @Beachberry: Ah good to know, thanks for heads up.

            • @Beachberry: The website it definitely didn't have stock before. I even asked a representative and they said they wer out and they didn't know when they'd get more.

              Yeah I'd say definitely buggy or stock updated but website is not.

              Didn't get any email saying stock available lol. (Even tho I signed up)

    Ordered, but the earliest day I could choose for delivery was the 28th. Is that the normal delivery period for the samsung store, or is it because its showing out of stock?

    • Same for me, 28th

    • +1

      Let's see how they unfold with those delivery dates - Samsung AU notorious for not shipping on time, months of have to chase, crap customer service etc etc. Hopefully lucky on these tho! Will see

      • Just normal delivery for large items with post. Samsung uses ANC delivery for bulky items and late shipping time is far gone. They're pretty much very fast with delivery now.

  • The reviews on their website don't sound promising. Also what kind of monitor as a micro hdmi port?

  • Any suggestions on how to order this if I don't have access to an android device?

    • Not sure if using an emulator like blue stacks or similar would work. But it would be the first thing I'd try.

  • Unsure if I should buy this or see if the AWF gets cheaper. I know they’re essentially the same panel but apparently the dell has much better warranty, qc and support

    • This comes with a 3 year warranty that cover burn in. Someone asked that question on the G8 page on Samsung.com

      And they confirmed that. So I wouldn't wait 8f that is the case. Look at reviews on YouTube. This is the superior monitor for much cheaper.

        Really? I’ve read and watched the opposite. Rtings have the awf slightly ahead https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/samsung-odyssey…

        Also, hardware unboxed stated that Samsung don't offer 3 year burn in warranty unlike the dell do with the AWF

        EDIT: I've spoken to Samsung support and Burn In is NOT included with the 3 year warranty. I'll probably go with the dell then as I find that ridiculous.

        • Cheers for the update man. They will hear a ear full for me. I'm gonna show them all the all the Aussie staff saying that you do get a three-year burn in warranty. hopefully I can convince one and get it in writing so I can hold it against them.

          There i was told it does have a 3 year moniter and cover burn in. This is what they said.

          "LCD and Network Monitors have 3 Years Warranty Period, that also applies to 34" Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 Ultra-WQHD Curved Gaming Monitor."

            @derekab95: Under PC & Office in your link.

            F. This Warranty does not cover:

            •cosmetic damage such as to the exterior finish;

            •minor imperfections within design specification so that do not materially alter functionality;

            burned-in images resulting from viewing an image on the display screen for an extended period of time;

            •reception or display problems and distortion related to noise, echo, interference or other signal transmission and delivery problems; or

            •use of products, equipment, systems, utilities, services, parts supplies accessories, applications, installations, repairs, external wiring or connectors not supplied or authorised by Samsung.

    FYI if you pair this with an AMD GPU it will not go above 400 nits. AMD acknowledged in August but no official fix yet but there is apparently a workaround.

  • I don't need it. I shouldn't buy it. My dell s2721dgf is good enough for me.

    • Does it help if I said I made this upgrade back in August (S2721DGF to AW3423WDF) and it ended up being one of my best PC related purchases ever lol.

        LALALALALA. I'm not hearing you!

        • Come to the light my friend.

          • @basketballfreak6: Oh wait that's a different model. You got alienware. Is it better or worse than this Samsung one?

            • @DrScavenger: Same panel, but Samsung has overall better features (ports and higher refresh rate etc); but to complicate things further Dell guarantees 3 year burn in warranty whereas Samsung technically does not but I guess could also depend on who you talk to if you do have to send it back due to burn in.

  • Just had a phone call from Samsung asking if I had recieved my monitor and if so was everything okay? Only just updated this morning to preparing order? They thought i already had it. Hopefully they actually send it now.

  • Apologies if I missed this, but can this further stack with loyalty discount code?

  • +1

    Hoping dell becomes cheaper, I'd prefer to have that 3 year burn in warranty.

  • $1049 now…
