  Does this one actually work?
  I can't, for the life of me, understand why it seems to be impossible for the brains trust of humankind to engineer a toaster that toasts evenly.

  Bought a DeLonghi for close to $100 thinking "surely it must work". Lesson learnt not to assume anything.

    Right? I bought a $150 KitchenAid toaster. It couldn't toast evenly to save itself. Ended up returning it and keeping the $10 Kmart one it was supposed to replace.
