Pixel Phone Plan Dropped Credit Score

So I got on the google pixel phone HN phone plan a couple months ago as many did and cancelled it then paid the notice as soon as I received it. My credit score dropped about 87 points since.

It dropped 1038 to 994 in the month I got it then to 951 this month.

I don't have any other "bills" apart from a credit card which I pay off ontime as I usually do. I haven't done anything else that would have affected it either. Upon further research it looks like the optus thing did 2 hits to my credit.
One was the opening of it I assume which is dated the day I got it but one of the hits is from 2017 to 2022 which I'm not sure what it is because I haven't been with them in that time. Not sure if this is related to the pixel deal or something I should look into getting removed.

Thanks

EDIT: So after more research it looks like the second enquiry is from an account i held from 2017 to 2019 (and paid off in full). Opening this new pixel plan has lead them to submit that as an enquiry for some reason years on so I'll be contacting optus about this. I'd advise you guys check this hasn't happened to you.

  • It dropped 1038 to 994 in the month

I thought 1000 was the max. I better get my act together. I've been stuck on 952 for ages but now you're telling me I can get >1000. TIL

Its Experian that has max 1000, Equifax has a max of 1200.

      • Illion also has a max of 100.

  • don't have any other "bills" apart from a credit card

Lack of CCR to balance out the enquiry.

  • You may get lucky and Optus may remove the original enquiry as a gesture of goodwill (especially now) but if you took up the facility in 2017 then they're under no compunction to remove the hit as it related to a genuine enquiry. If you do nothing, and go on as you have, your score will go up again over the next couple of months. And it's not a borderline score even now, it's a good one, so I wouldn't lose any sleep over Optus' delay in reporting.

Is that an Equifax score though? The format doesn't look right.

    • It's an equifax score on getcreditscore.com.au.
Like I understand i should get 1 hit for opening a new account but why'd I get hit with this one as well which was closed 4 years ago and why it says it was open until 2022.

      • That second image doesn't look like a list of enquiries.

Oh no! Not my credit score!

Ignore it and move on. It fell a few points and makes absolutely no difference unless you are about to apply for a car, house or investment loan of some description.

    • Going for a home loan soon actually.

It's irrelevant. They bank only cares about negative events (e.g. missing payment), current loan products and your general serviceability. This enquiry alone has zero bearing on any lending decision as does the concept of credit scores in general.

    credit scores are a scam.

    LOL

Is this Harvey Norman or an Optus thing?

  • It tanked mine by about 100 with illion.
