Strangled them in the field after the first 10 overs. Extremely good fielding and great management of bowling options.
I feel disappointed for my Indian friends, but the home team has performed outstandingly throughout the comp, so they should hold their heads high.

Didn't they score 80 in the first 10 overs?

Indeed. They weren't strangled at all in the first 10, but only a handful of boundaries in the next 40.

    Great result!
I hope this mutes the criticisms of Cummins as captain. Sure, no leader can do the job without the support of his teammates and coaching staff, but Test and ODI titles, and retaining The Ashes, in the same year, all won on the road, is a gigantic achievement

Thanks I really pulled out an expert performance from the armchair. I’d like to thank the sponsors and OzBargain

Outstanding result! While no Australian team is ever without hope, they certainly were fighting uphill. Ultimately it was a dominant win.

Poor form from the Indians to not hang around for the presentation ceremony. This is something you should be taught from juniors.

    • it's a day/night match with a 10:30pm presentation ceremony on a Sunday night.

Did they have an early cricket meeting in the morning to go to or something?

They're highly paid athletes representing their country, there's no excuse.

        • Sssh. Don't tell them about the F1 race in Vegas on the weekend that started at 10pm local time.

      • It's not like they have work early the next day…

      • They had to drop kids to school next morning

  • The bookmakers would be happy

Confusingly bad performance from India, their bowling was off, their field placements didn't restrict runs, their tactic of soaking up overs and going hard at the end relied on not losing any wickets, which they then did. The whole series they relied on their top 4-5 batsmen too, once that fell over Australia suddenly was in control. Whereas Head could hit it around and know that so long as they got within 100 runs there were still a few people to come that could make that many runs, even down to Cummins and Starc.

Not to take away anything from Head's incredible innings, he batted perfectly, but India was pretty terrible.

    Travis Head India father

  • hehe I watched last few overs and still sleepy today, sad about the wickets before last 2 runs, could have been a great ending for him :/

  • Not bad considering India has over 54 times the population of Australia

Was the cricket on? Hopefully this cricket season my luck will continue and avoid all mention of it.

  • I have to say, after the first two losses, I wrote them off. Their performance and effort was way below par. Credit to the boys for getting the job done.
