Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers

Hi, I'm looking for a controller for the switch, that has a rumble function and won't break the bank. My daughter has a broken thumb and arm. The joy-con controllers at too small to hold for her, right now. .

I can't find any controllers, other than the genuine Nintendo pro controller and an 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth controller.
As far as I can see,, they're both in the same price range
Which one should I get and why? Also, does anyone know of any good deals on either controller?

Thanks in advance.

The official pro controller is the one to get. It's one of the most comfortable controllers. Don't bother with 3rd party rubbish. I'd keep an eye on JB, Target, and Big W for a decent price.

    • Yeah, I was hoping they would've temporarily dropped the price for BF, but they didn't. It's still $89,-

        Worth the price either way.

I would try the Amazon AU ones for around $25, they work well for the price. There's ones on AliExpress also that look like exact copies, but I have no XP with those personally.

Tried to post links, but the comment was deleted. Just search for "switch pro controller" on Amazon or AliExpress

If you already have a controller for a PS5 or XBOX you can use a '8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter' (Ebay can be a bit cheaper than Amazon here)

I'm using it myself on my Switch with a PS5 controller and it is the best! Setting it up is a bit painful. I had to pair it to the USB stick using my laptop but after that it works great.

  • No, I only have my old N64 controllers lol.

I recommend the 8bitdo (ultimate or pro2). Turbo feature is a lifesaver when it comes to physical difficulties. And the programmable back shoulder buttons can make some hard to reach buttons more accessible.

    • Is that the Ultimate with Bluetooth? Or the Ultimate C?

Ultimate Bluetooth is what I have, which is the one compatible with switch. Handy with the dock as I'm a switch/PC player myself and it's painless to swap between switch/PC. Whereas the C is 2.4g only I believe, so needs a USB plugged in to work (and thus doesn't work with switch). Ultimate bluetooth also has the Hall joysticks whereas the C doesn't.

The 8Bitdo Pro 2 is the other one I mentioned, which is the older model, can find it cheaper nowadays. I like it a lot for the same reasons, though it's been hit or miss with build quality/faults.

        Sorry for the late reply
