By the time you add $9.95 Delivery it's much cheaper at Big W = $1.00

Kmart Plush Santa Hat… $2.00. No bargain here.

    • -5

Your comment is partially misleading. You can search online see if any other seller sell this type of Santa hat under $1. This product is priced $0.95. Also, free delivery for orders over $79. It may not suit you but for people need to purchase online or need them in bulk, they can compare the costs and make decision. If purchasing 100 hats at Big W, total cost $100. Versus total $95 ($90.25 after coupon) from us and delivered to door. If you want to compare, compare them in full picture.

In addition, we believe you are deliberately targeting associated posts on OzBargain site. You consistently give negative votes to the majority of associated, marketing, employee posts except posts from big businesses. Some opinions and comparations are utterly unfair. We understand you have bad days. But hopefully not everyday to you. Life doesn't have to be miserable.

      • +3

I would say all the negative votes from WatchNerd I have seen are accurate and not unfair at all. Unfortunately this is a bargain website, not just a website for everyone to promote their small businesses.

      • +4

It's called "keeping them honest". The fact you don't realise he's keeping you honest means he defiantly should be out here keeping people honest.

      • +3

        Your comment is partially misleading

No, your comment is misleading… your hat isnt $0.90. It's $10.85. Or it is $79. I would need to bulk buy 84 of your Santa hats to meet the minimum requirement for free postage.

In addition, we believe you are deliberately targeting associated posts on OzBargain site.

Then stop posting shit deals if you dont want this to be pointed out in future posts. It's OzBargain" not "OzFreeAdvertising".

      • To be fair, it's not like shipping is free for a business - it'd be impossible to make any kind of profit on a $1 posted santa hat if shipping was included for free. If someone does want like 100 of the things and wants to buy within Australia, this might be a deal after all.

Nothing stopping you from posting deals like this here OP - hope you do find someome who will consider this a bargain - but don't be surprised if 99% of users here don't consider it to be.

        • Thank you!

  • +2

As above, you need to include the delivery cost in the post OP, seeing as it's $9.95 it makes this a very unattractive deal considering you can buy a santa hat cheaper elsewhere ie eBay or BigW.

    • -2

We declared "+ Delivery" and "($0 with $79 Order)" in title. Now added text "$9.95" in it after your suggestion.

Now, where can you purchase them cheaper? If purchasing 100 hats at Big W, total cost $100. Versus total $95 ($90.25 after coupon) from us and delivered to door. I checked eBay there is one listing 60pcs for $54.99. That's $0.916 each. Still more than our price.

      Do you have example where?

      • +3

AliExpress are selling 5 for $4.35 posted, and that's just the link I found in 10 seconds - there may be even cheaper options.

        • -2

Good if you are happy to wait and not worrying they don't cancel order after a couple of days.

          • +2

            @[Deactivated]: Oh, grow up.

This is the typical line "associated" users blurt out every time they are caught reselling shit that they have bought on Alibaba/AliExpress themselves.

The other two marketing nuggets I am waiting for are the usual "YeAh BuT yOuSe hAvE tO wAiT 6 MuNfS fOr DeLiVeRy!!1" or my other favorite; "Well, we are an Australian business. Do you want to send an Australian business broke, with Australian workers, working in an Australian office, employed by Australian owners and employing Australian staff?" when what they really are is nothing but a Made In China reseller, so they arent really creating anything…

            • @pegaxs:

when what they really are is nothing but a Made In China reseller, so they arent really creating anything…

You make some fair points Pegaxs and I agree with you for most of them; however I do have to interject here regarding that statement

Pretty much everything non-perishable product wise is 'Made in China' these days, so essentially Kmart, BigW, Target (etc) are also 'Made in China' resellers. OP hasn't claimed to have 'Created' anything so I don't think that particular point is valid solely in OP's case.

        $5.50 delivered @ eBay.

        $5.99 delivered @ eBay

        $5.85 delivered @ eBay.

Last two are eligible for eBay Plus discounts, bringing the price down further.

There's plenty more examples for cheaper than you are trying to sell them for.

  • +1

    Cheaper elsewhere as per above

  • +1

    Cheaper elsewhere as per WN

  • +3

    $9.50 delivery…. on a Santa hat? :D You're having a laff, isnt ya?

Literally every single junk $2 shop in any town, suburb or city will have these in spades…

    "Cheaper elsewhere"

    • +4

But if you buy 100 of them!

I bet if you buy 100 cars you'll get them cheaper than a single car!

      • Don't get it wrong. Companies and organisations can purchase 100s of hats easily. But compare them to cars is rich.

      • Or I could just go back to the same Alibaba supplier that OP uses and buy them direct for about 8c each… :D

        • Right, you could go back and purchase from overseas.

You just said "Well, we are an Australian business. Do you want to send an Australian business broke, with Australian workers, working in an Australian office, employed by Australian owners and employing Australian staff?" yourself.

What a slap in your own face.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: You obviously didn't understand my other comment if this was your takeaway from it.

  • +3

    LOLO How not to OZB.

    As above, CE EVERYWHERE!

  • +4

OP, Please STOP fighting the community
Your replies are vexing and are doing absolutely NOTHING to help your business…

Try to remember that these posts (and the comments) remain on OZB, and get indexed by Google, so anyone looking back on deals by 'Party Owls' will be able to see this post, and I guarantee one of the first things they will see is the 6 negs / 0 likes ratio (At the time of this comment) which isn't great, so it's in your best interest to take this a little more seriously…

Your Santa Hat offering is only viable if someone wanted to order 85+ Santa Hats to trigger the Free Postage for Orders over $79, or a combination of other products + Santa Hat(s). Probably not the best product to have tried to push on here…. I do see what you were trying to do, but unfortunately you failed and from your various responses it's looking like you're choosing to bury your head in the sand + be a bit of a twit + fight the community.

Next time, maybe look into doing something designed to bring awareness to your business while also offering a good deal, eg. $5 off no minimum spend, $10 off orders of $50 or more etc - I'm sure the OZB community would have been more receptive of an offer like that; assuming your products aren't clearly marked up Kmart products or something (I haven't looked at your site).

For now, focus on an apology + offering the community something better regarding your next deal, otherwise you have pretty much doomed any chance of your posts (or posts from other users for 'Party Owls') being taken seriously on OZB again..

OP keep digging yourself a deeper hole the more I read your comments. Thankfully we have people like watchnerd (the Don Chip of ozbargain) to keep the bastards honest.
Btw justifying your crap argument that if we buy 100 hats we’re cheaper than big w by $5 doesn’t pass the pub test.
