Do you like to sim slut?

You can get a 120Gb plan with 365 day expiry from Kogan Mobile for $100 at the moment

    • Coles 60GB plan @ $120 was discontinued on 9 November 2023
The amaysim 60GB plan @ $120 followed shortly after that.

      Now Coles is discontinuing the rest of thier 365 day plans (120GB @ $150 / 200GB @ $200)
      See here:
      https://colesmobile.com.au/home/page/plan-changes

So Optus is putting pressure on thier MVNOs to put up prices and discontinue the cheaper plans.
CatchMobile will be forced to shortly follow

Telstra has done this already. Telstra MVNO prices have gone right up.
Woolworths mobile presently has the cheapest Telstra MVNO 365 day plan -125GB @ $170pa

As I have been saying for the last month……
Stop waiting for a better deal. Its not going to happen!
At least not with Optus and Telstra MVNOs.
Vodafone will surely follow suit which will affect Kogan Mobile's sharp prices.

So get in now on any 365 day plans under $101 if you want to lock in a budget plan before they are gone forever!

  • Probably Optus Wholesale hiking price after Telstra Wholesale did and got away with it

    • Yes, very obvious
Watch Vodafone follow suit which will impact Kogan Mobile 365 day plans

  • What's network coverage like with them- do they use the full Optus network or a cut down version of it like the Woolworths SIM?

Just compared to the 365 day 125GB Woolies option and that was $170 so the Coles version at $125 is a lot less.

      Full Optus

So, should be good coverage outside of nation-wide outages then :)

        • +1

          Depends on your location.

    • +1

All Optus MVNOs use the full Optus network

To clarify, Telstra has 2 mobile networks:
      1) The old 3G/4G Telstra wholesale network which they sell to thier MVNOs (except Boost which they own)

      2) The newer Telstra 5G/4G Retail network which has the best coverage in Australia and which is exclusive to Telsta Business and Retail customers.

Both Telstra networks have excellent coverage but the retail network covers more remote places which you are unlikely to visit on a regular basis. It also includes the 5G mobile network.

Personally travelling up and down the NSW coast and out to the Blue Mountains, I have found the Telstra Wholesale network to be far superior to the Vodafone network and as good if not slightly better that the Optus mobile network.

But for the record I am presently on the discontinued amaysim 60GB 365 day plan (Optus network) which I have found to provide reasonable coverage (similar to Telstra wholesale network) everywhere I have been in the last 11 months. And Im planning to RENEW it given the discontinuation of anything similar.

      • except Boost which they own

Incorrect. People should stop repeating this.
        Telstra owns Belong.

The old 3G/4G Telstra wholesale network which they sell to thier MVNOs

Many MVNOs now have 5G access

  • Dows anything from Coles cost less than $150?

    • Yes, right now the Coles $150 365 day 120GB plan is discounted to $125 for the retail starter pack
Only until 29 November 2023 so be quick and before stocks run out.
Also comes with Bonus 40GB data for a total of 160GB data for the year
      Last chance…seriously!

      • what could be the expiry dates of these sims?
i have 10 months to go on my current plan.

        thanks

        • Usually you must activate within 30 days.
I think with these because these are now also being withdrawn you must activate by 31 December 2023

  • What happens if you need to renew with Coles 365 day plan and you purchase another deal. Are they for new customers only? I don't want to wait for Catch to mail out a SIM.

    • You can do either
      Up to you
