Streaming Gear - Best Sales on for Back Friday?

Our son has been asking to set up a YouTube channel for years but has always been under age. He is now turning 13 and we are looking to get him some equipment for him to play around with this (with close monitoring of course).

Looking at a microphone set up and anything else anyone may recommend as a good starting point. Hoping to get something high quality for a bargain given Black Friday / Cyber Monday. But also, the birthday is only a week and a half away.

Any deals anyone can point me to? Recommended products I should be keeping an eye out for?
I have no idea what I am looking at here and would appreciate any guidance (:

  • For microphones, Blue Yetis are well regarded.

  • As said the Blue Yetis are a solid microphone, I had a yeti but they are heavy things and chunky and obstructed my vision a bit with their boom arm too so I went to the wave 3 when they released in 2020

The even better thing I got a year later was the fact Elgato then released a Arm for the microphone that went under the monitors as opposed to over them and being in the way of sorts which is this arm.

Also has the white option that I didn't have in 2021 but I still use both to this day and don't plan on replacing at any time soon, they give a real simplistic yet smooth and cool feel to setups too.

  • My son has a setup using a Shure mic but you need to be aware that many of these mics dont come with the cables, mixers, recording software, or extras like a boom arm.

He says to look at Shure or Rode.

Stream card, streaming software (obs, xsplit)

Then there's the digital assets. If he wanted to create his own, Canva, Photoshop, VSL, Adobe Premier etc etc. Heaps on YT about this. 100% rabbit hole.
