Is that a reason to downvote? Clearly the deal it's not for you.

This type of silly game was sold in 2 bucks 25 years ago

      Nah.

      • +9

I think I can remember them being around $30 in the 90's (back when I wanted one and my parents wouldn't buy it because it was too much…)

      • You'd win?

      Welcome to inflation bucko

    • +1

Well the android version is free 2 play, with ads of course.

The niche is it's own dedicated device with three easy buttons. Remember these were the craze when I was 8/9 yo. Sadly never got one myself till I won one from K-Zone magazine in a competition.

Cost clearly went up cause of inflation, overheads, materials and labor.

      • From play store?

This type of silly dinosaur juice was sold in 1 buck 3 years ago. Now it worths nearly $2.50 without any upgrade.

    • +6

I am almost certain that this Tamagotchi is cheaper than it was 25 years ago (adjusting for inflation)

      • I think they were 20$ back in the day. Also some of these upgraded or have new features. The new digimon I bought has all the digimon from the first several series, so it has a lot more content than the originals. The mechanics are mostly identical but it's suppose to be retro and not a modern pet simulator

Shhh. Wait until someone tells him about the housing market..

      • +1

Don't tell him about the price of gas, his world would shatter…

  • +1

Wow didn’t know these are still a thing.

    Thanks OP I got one.

    Thank you
My sister in law mentioned it for my nephew, perfect timing!

The instructions are in english so I imagine the game would be.

  • Tempting to buy for the nostalgia

    • Nostalgia is one hell of a drug

I found an old tamagotchi. Cleaned it up. Changed batteries. Kids were not interested 😂

  • If this is anything like the Evangelion one, it's not full featured.

Missing heaps of stuff, not many evolutions. Dies quickly

    • +6

Just like my SeaMonkeys. Never evolved to the ones seen on the box. Died quickly.

need a gojo themed one for story reasons

  • +5

    Do you feed it fingers?

  • Considering buying it for a nephew, on one hand they're too young to know JJK, but loved my Tamagotchi when I was young

  • +3

Now we need a furby deal, and my 2000's childhood will be complete.

  • Are there any of these products where the character doesn't die, or doesn't easily die. The Digimon seems to die after a time period, and the Tamagochi seems to die after injured a certain amount of times.

    • The nanos like this one and the Tamagotchi mini don’t die or run away easily. You can feed it once a day and it will live. The original Tamagotchi rereleases have a glitch where if you feed it too many snacks it will die.

        Diabetes?

  • I remembwe having one of the digimon ones. Good stuff when ya figure out the cheats lol.

  • Very funny putting thegamesmen as a reference. You couldnt pick a worse example of the current price. Everybody knows thegamesmen always have the worst price in town.
