Need cheapest dual core OR best bang sub $400 i3 laptop

Well this isnt for me but my lovely wife who is currenty using a dell lattitude d510 running xp, lol some of the keys are missing & it dont work without the power lead lol. :-D Her reasons for upgrade? Frustrated with how slow it is.

She isnt fussy (can u tell?) so she would be more than happy with a dual core machine, she only does facebook, microsoft office and an email app.

This is to be used as a desktop so 15" screen is prefered. Rarely will it be used without power cord so battery does not matter.

We are on a very tight budget, however i am asking for cheapest solutions for both dual core and i3 because if an i3 can be had for just a little more (depending on other specs like more ram usb3 etc…$100?) i will go for it.

Hard drive does not matter, i have a 60gb ssd here that will go straight in.

Dual core & i3 Requirements…

15" screen
2gb ram
webcam
win7

  • You probably have a reason, but - if it's being used as a desktop, why not buy her one. Laptops are great for those who want to carry it from place to place. But a laptop keyboard in relation to the screen it means she always has to tilt her head down. It's bad for posture to be looking downwards. Considering she'll be spending hours a week doing just that… Don't girls claim they get enough headaches as it is! ;-p
