  • not sure if just me - but the bar gets super hot after extended use :(

    • Make sense, since the whole exterior is a heatsink.

Worth it or better cheaper available?

  • Can someone comment if it's good so I can buy. I'm lazy to do my own research

    • They're fast and very strong (my cat loves playing with them and hiding them from me).

The only negative for me with the 128/256Gb ones are exFat. I hate that file system so much (just files not in any logical order, a lil slower with read/write and not all devices like TV's can read files from it properly).

what? can't you just plug it into your PC and format it as FAT32 or NTFS??

I have had plenty of drives that came formatted as exFAT but formatted them to NTFS and they worked as they should.

you only really need to use exFAT system if you plan to transfer files from PC to Mac or Mac to PC.

I have 2, they are fast, they do get warm. Please note the delivery is 2 weeks away

  • Yeah ive got a few. Same here, fast but do get very warm to the touch.

  • is this 100% metal?? where the loop/keyring attaches? some products these days have plastic with "a metallic coating".

I have a problem with Sandisk which is plastic and shatters at the loop so I cannot attach anything to it.

    • All metal on this one. I have one kicking around on my keys that's holding on well.

cool thank you. not planning on putting keys on it, just a lanyard. but Sandisk's plastic loop area shattered within a year and won't hold anything. got it for cheap but won't be buying Sandisk again.

metal samsung sounds good. gonna wait around for a deal on the 128GB. $19 sounds good. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/621546

    • 100% metal. Only type I buy, due to their ruggedness. You'll lose your keyring (where I put mine) before the all metal construction fails.

I encrypt mine with Bitlocker for security.
