Times are tough and sometimes you just have to DIY

This is an upgraded version with more accessories and slightly longer battery life of the cheaper Remington Rapid Cut Turbo I have used obtained from previous deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/remington-rapid-cut-tur… that also seems to be in clearance mode e.g. $60 at Harris Scarfe low or out of stock elsewhere. There are also similar knockoffs on various websites.

  • Can anyone vouch for the battery? The previous model (linked above) ran out of juice and doesn't really hold charge after ~ 10-20 uses.

Also keen to know if it is USB C charge port

I have a precious model rapid cut and have no issues with the battery after close to 2 years.
I even bought a spare at one point on sale thinking I'd have battery issues and it's still sitting in the cupboard.

      • Same, have had mine for two or three years with trims or cuts every two to four weeks and still holds a charge.

Other reviews says the plastic combs can snap and to buy spares but I have not had that yet.

Pretty happy - it paid for itself in two months.

maybe only for crew cut, I got the previous model in COVID but it's really hard to handle due to very large curvature. I used Wahl (made in USA) & still going strong for more than 2 years

Yeah I'd only recommend this for those looking for somewhere between Jason Statham and Vin Diesel hair styles (well close, it's not shaved but works well for '0' level cut) :)

Wish they brought back the waterproof feature as the original did have it.
My one is on its last legs

I believe this hair clipper is at least water resistant. Check out their promotional video on YouTube - it says the blades can be fully rinsed under running water.

      • Unfortunately the manual also states to ensure the hair is dry before starting

    • yeah, so much easier shaving in the shower
